I was asked the other day why I preferred Firefox over Safari on my Mac, and I realized it was a very hard to quantify why I felt that Firefox was a better browser. Maybe the sites viewers can help me out or set me straight but this is what I have so far.

  • Firefox is simply more effective at rendering web pages on my G4 Titanium Powerbook and Dual 1.25 G5.
  • Safari is prettier.
  • Firefox offers extensions and toolbars that are useful.
  • Safari is better integrated with Mac OS X.
  • Bank sites prefer Firefox over Safari? This used to be true but maybe I stand corrected
  • Safari does RSS better.
  • Firefox emulates Safari’s interface.
  • Safari doesn’t need a theme.
  • Firefox looks like the browser on my PC.
  • Safari has .mac
  • So does Firefox.
  • Yahoo Mail does not work in Safari (Thanks nerfball)

Its not a big deal, but Yahoo’s new mail is not supported.

Sorry, Yahoo! Mail Beta does not support your browser.
You can either download a compatible browser or proceed to the original Yahoo! Mail.

Come on Apple this IS YAHOO!
