After a few weeks of Microsoft Windows Vista RTM 6000 testing I feel myself yurning for a simpler age of simply better ideas. I remember real innovation such as Apple’s MacWrite and MacPaint and wonder if we will ever truly again be wowed by an idea so innovative it changes how we work everyday. I remember when someone added the double click to the beta release of Apple’s System 1.0 (or was it 0.9). The point was to make things easier instead of harder and faster instead of slower. People created software to make things easier for others and did so not for the dollar primarily but just because they could.
