Would you like to display your own Favicon or icon on the browser address bar when visitors view or bookmark your blog or web page?

From Wikipedia:
A favicon (short for “favorites icon”), also known as a page icon, is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage. A web designer can create such an icon, and many graphical web browsers—such as recent versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, Safari, iCab, AOL Explorer, Epiphany, Konqueror, and Flock—can then make use of them. Browsers that support favicons may display them in the browser’s URL bar, next to the site’s name in lists of bookmarks, and next to the page’s title in a tabbed document interface.

Now it’s easy to create icons for your web pages with FavIcon from Pics. Check out http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/. Just upload your image and then download your favicon.

Upload the .ico to your images directory and then add the following code below your head tag on your web page or WordPress template between <>.

[...] We’ve reviewed a few favicon creators before but I omitted a obvious webpage that I often rely on for creating actual icons instead of just favicons. This webpage will take your standard image and convert it to a icn. icon file. It does a great job too and if you watch carefully you will often see one my icons appear in the recently created icons section. So go ahead make your own icons! [...]

Here’s some help for anyone who wants to create animated favicons, which work on Firefox and Netscape, but not on Interenet Explorer which will only show a static favicon. http://www.cathetel.com/favicon.htm
