Charge Motorola RAZR with standard USB cable from PC
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have been charging my RAZR with a standard mini USB cable hooked up to my laptop. This keeps me from toting around an extra charger to work where my RAZR will inevitable run out of juice before I leave that end of the day. All you need are the right drivers and a mini USB cable, which most people have from digital cameras or mp3 players. If not a trip to Radioshack or Kmart will get you a cable for less than $3.00. Meanwhile Motorola charges over $20 for their “special” cable. Simple instructions below.
1. Download the driver, unzip to a folder.
2. Plug in phone with mini USB cable too computer USB port.
3. Will auto detect and ask for drivers.
4. Point install to folder and let it do its thing.
5. Your phone will now charge with a cheap mini USB cable.
I am not really sure where these drivers originated they have been on my PC for a while, but I am sure they are free and open source. For all of those surprised that I use a RAZR, keep in mind, mine is heavily modded and until I can get a smart phone in a smaller flip factor it will be phone of choice for no other reason than its light weight and durability.
Ok now for the drivers…

Qumana blog publisher, one more alternative to Performancing

Its not that blogging that is hard, its getting content, formatting the content, and then proofing the content that is hard. WordPress is quick and easy but it could be better. In comes utilities like Qumana, which aspires to get you to put their ads in your blog but whether or not you add the ads from Qumana we have a powerful blog publisher here. I set up my blog in a matter of minutes and was posting highly formatted blog posts in minutes. There were a couple quirks in the WYSIWYG view that showed text breaks at a larger break than on the web but for the most part I was able to create a post in record time.
Note this post was created in Qumana
Highly recommend.
Justblogit, quick web page blogging from small Firefox Extension

After installing it you browse as you normally would until you come across a website that you find interesting and want to write a blog entry about it, all you have to do is right click on the page, and you will immediately be taken to the JustBlogIt “add a post†screen.
You can configure JustBlogIt to work with a number of blogging programs, including my favored WordPress and additionally Blogger, Drupal, LiveJournal, Movable Type, Radio Userland, TextPattern, TypePad, journalspace, b2evolution and BLOG:CMS. Pretty extensive for 20kb extension.
Is it better than Performancing? Probably not but options are options and with Performancing’s recent false start of being acquired my eyes are looking for alternatives.
