Skype and Cable Phone services look out for magicJack! USB on one side Phone out on the other FREE Calls
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Skype killer is a word that I’ve heard to describe magicJack, this device is so simple my grandmother could install one on her PC and begin using VOIP. With USB on one end and a phone cable on the other how much more simple can you get? Thats right you plug in your ANALOG phone into a USB device and you dial out, thats it. It remains to be seen how much a phone number will be and whether or not you get a voicemail, but as of right now I pay over $20 a month for Charter VOIP and if I can pay the projected retail of $50 and pay nothing else and be able to make FREE phone calls I will be first in line to buy a magicJack.
Update: I received a MagicJack from MagicJack.com the other day and I can tell you right now that it works as advertised. I have never seen a simpler to use product. There isn’t even a CD with it, the software and drivers are installed via a USB drive built into the device. You simply plug it into your computer, plug in your phone, and start calling. I cannot figuire out if there is way to configure the number you get which makes other pause when calling you but never the less I be replacing the VOIP offered by my cable company with the MagicJack. The call quality is perfect and other than having to have both your PC and your internet on to make the call I can barely find a fault in its execution.
More Update: People tend to keep asking if you can hook up ANY phone to the MagicJack, the answer is YES. Whether its a cordless phone to a cheapo $5 headset it will work.

How awesome is that! I tell you what I think that one news article made my week. Seems like it would be cool for a dorm room? It sure would be cool for this poor college student to save some money on my cell bill Yikes!
Says it is available April 1 but doesn’t say where.
I wonder what their definition of free is?
TOo bad the government won’t be able to tap this thing. Fn republican nut jobs
What? What does this have to do with government? VOIP is just as trackable as phone conversations. This has nothing to do with trackable or not. I think this device will do well if it can be properly marketed. The problem is you have to buy something Skype is free period. The only thing this allows is to use your own phone line.
I gotta tell you this site keeps showing up on my browser, everytime it does I smile. There is always something so cool, you just need to post more often.
The MagicJack doesn’t seem magic to me…
The MagicJack shouldn’t be connected to the USB port of a running computer, but directly to the DSL modem or the router. It could get it’s energy from the router’s Ethernet port. The entire phone software should be embedded in the device and not rel…
Update: Got a free MagicJack a few weeks ago and will adding a review pretty soon. I had some firewall issues that were conflicting with it initially that has been resolved. Stay Tuned!
Look for the review on the MagicJack on Friday May 11th!
It is very similar device I saw it, I use google to search, someone call flashphone and come from mplat.com , and almost one years before.
I guess, MagicJack don’t have core technology.
SUNROCKET goes out of BUISNESS as soon as
MAJICJACK opens for buisness.
Now i understand
I recieved my MAGICJACK,Everything on the website/news
it is true to its word,
All that is required for you to do is register ,pick out the area code and presto you have a working phone again, what great product and just in the nick of time!
- after getting my phone service shut off with no warning from SUNROCKET.
It is true $39.99 a YEAR / FREE SHIPPING if you spell SUNROCKET in the coupon code area.
after that $19.99 a year for a licence fee.
The great thing about it is thier are no taxes due on the phone because the service
is given out for free.
A must for us frugal and budget minded consumers, never pay retail like they say.
Have a great day talking!
Using MagicJack in conjunction with GrandCentral is the way to go. Local numbers and email voice mail plus MagicJack’s virtually free phone service.

(i) Call Forwarding ( to cell phone, work phone etc..)

thanks

MagicJack’s website says yes. http://www.magicjack.com/site/QandA_FreeFreeFree.html
can we use magicjack for fund raiser at our church?
I got mine a few weeks ago and I love it. Only problem is I can’t keep my DSL without the phone company’s phone service. Cable wants $42.00 monthly for the internet service which might work. Oh well I will wait till I can get a local number on Magicjack and see what I can do. In the mean time I am giving a Magicjack to my customers who purchase our pest control service.
My current provider for TELEPHONE, TV AND INTERNET (Three Services) is Atlantic Broadband.
Can I request from them to CUT MY TELEPHONE service and still be able to
use my access to Internet and TV services I actually have and use ?
I understand with my current Dell Windows98 PC model I have to use the TELEPHONE LINE TO OPERATE….. How is my PC going to work if ATLANTIC CO. CUTS MY TELEPHONE LINE ??
Please answer my question, IT’S CRITICAL FOR ME. Thanks in advance, Julio
AT&T DSL - many markets can be naked (no phone service required). Check your DSL provider to find if they have unbundled or naked DSL
I currently have Skype one year unlimited calling. I will definitely look at magicjack when my Skype plan expires as I’m not happy that Skype is owned by eBay
I just paid a cell phone bill of $70> and a cable, phone, internet bill $135> how can the magic jack help me? I need them all but the rates are killing me. I am not a techno geek and honestly don’t know wheather this will assist me. I need to know if I will need to seek wireless internet or will this be compatible with cable? Basically, I hate paying so much for what has become necessary communication tools.
Phimo, MagicJack can at least make your phone bill go away. Oh and btw, quite a few people have asked about local numbers…While I didn’t get a local phone number MagicJack may be getting better at that. I’ll do some research to see if the number is changeable. Until then you can use GrandCentral to have a local number and have it forwarded to your MagicJack.
Does GrandCentral offer services to Canada? I looked on their website but couldn’t find the answer. I would like to give MagicJack a try, but I would like to keep our home phone number…
Does anyone know if MJ works in Hawaii and visa versa?
Thanks!
CM
This is an answer to CM,
I live in Hawaii and just received my magicjack today, it works very well and the tone is very clear, the area code 808 is not available yet, they have a list of states with their area codes so I pick CA, mjack gave me a Ca. number, when you call your Hawaii friends you have to call their 1-808 area code and there are no problems calling from magic jack, however, my daughter tried to call me back by dialing my new number and she was not able to connect to the magic jack number that was given to me nor my phone did not ring.
If anyone jhad the same experience and knows how to fix it, please email me.. why is it that my daughter in area code 808 was not able to call my 213-221-8059, magic jack number.
Thanks,
Elena
i heard magic jack is going bankrupt. is it true?
I have heard that the government is going out of business for many years now and so far it has not. I don’t know where your heard that but if you will let us in on it we can investigate. And if Magicjack does fold let’s use it while we can…..
MagicJack is NOT going out of business it is a private company that does not have tons of over head.
Just set up Road Runner for my magic jack and am kicking out the phone company. Got a local number through Grand Central and am buying cordless phone with foru handsets. Went from $80.00 monthly to $22.48.
My questions are: 1.Will one Magic Jack work for all the phone extensions in my house? 2.Will it interfere with my webcam? and 3. Can I call Africa though MagicJack? Thank you.
It won’t work on phone jacks in my house so I am buying a cordless set of four phones for extensions.
Magic Jack doesn’t have all the area codes yet, but they are growing pretty quick as they become available. I have had some luck wiring it up for a friend using it on all the extensions in the house, but you have to remember to disconnect your line from MA Bell. (Yes I said MA bell, because AT&T is buying everything back they owned before the break up and then some.) Would be nice if there was a ethernet version of this jack, but, my friends laptop is so small when they go on vacation, they can take it with them along with the bluetooth earpiece and they are connected to the phone without carrying anything bigger than an electric razor. I think this will become a great thing if the 19.95 per year can cover the costs. Maybe paying up front for 4 or 5 years might be a good thing if you suspect cost to raise soon. Do you chance this just being a fad? Just food for thought. Before the magicjack my friends were using Ymsgr with bluetooth and it worked but It was limited to call only friends with computers.
To hook up vonage to all your phones, you need to disconnect the main phone service line (box outside), mine was just screwed shut and then I unplugged it like a phone jack. Then you phone lines in your house are closed, just connected inside. Using one of the phone jacks and an extension phone cord, plug the box in and run it to the jack, now all other jacks will work with the phone. I imagine you can do this with magicjack.
I received a MagicJack from MagicJack.com the other day and I can tell you right now that it works as advertised. I have never seen a simpler to use product. There isn’t even a CD with it, the software and drivers are installed via a USB drive built into the device
Can MagicJack be used with a slow dial-up internet connection? Thaks for any answer.
I do not feel comfortabe ordering Magicjack until I see a working contact us link with a phone number. I called the one listerd on the internet and was told I reached a wrong number (1-561-215-1407) any help would be apreciated. Don
Hi,,,,,Saw MJ commercial and have been reading away here on your website. I understand the initial fee biz,,,,,the yearly contract fee after the 1 year,,,but what I’m not clear on is,,,,,,do you still have to pay your local cable or phone service company a fee every month ?? eg. my cable company charges me 29.99/mo for phone, all services included except for international, which doesn’t apply for me. If that is the case, MJ is not a money saver for me. Another thing, I travel between 2 locations ,,,,,,,, can I use MJ at both or need to purchase 2 MJs ?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions,,,,,,
I just got my magic jack and it worked so well as advertised, I selected a 714 area code which is Anaheim….. and everything was fine, Im planning to send it to the Philippines so that my daughter can call me for free here in california, I will keep you guys posted if this will work…but for now all I can say isSkype Vonage, will lose a lot of customers…thats for sure and I am one
Is it necessary to keep the telephone service line that (be it cable or otherwise) in order for MJ to work. If so, it’s not worth it except for the international calling.
If anyone know a phone number for the company so I can find out answers myself, that would be great !
Thanks anyway
i can\\\’t get my computer to recognize my magicjack, it keeps saying please connect to the internet and double click when ready. but i am connected to the internet. what do i do
Patty go to speedtest.net and check your high speed connection. If you have a connection that is not high speed enough it won’t work.
Jerry (Martin) is that you in NC? How’d the move go?
All the best!
Joe (now in GreenAcres…GA)
MagicJack works great! I have used one since they were first available and I tell you it is incredibly good. I have broadband anyway, and I have canceled my land line phone. You cannot tell this phone from a regular phone. The cost is about $40 bucks to buy which includes a year of calling. Each subsequent year is about $20. No monthly phone bills ever. This is phone service for about $1.67 a month. I am glad I bought one, and will never own a landline again.
Our business bought MagicJack a few weeks ago. The devise works great when it’s working. Unfortunately, the phone connection times out after a couple of hours and the USB has to be pulled out and reconnected to get it going again. Does anybody know why this is happening?
Can this service be bought in Canada??
Joe I may not be the Jerry Martin you ar ethinking of……
how do i get a number from grand central?> any one know? please help….
Jeanette go to Grandcentral.com and fill out the info for your invitation. They will set you up with a local number.
Does anyone have a “current coupon code for the magicjack? Thanks, Lori
Anyone have a current discount coupon code for the magicjack. Thanks, Lori
You keep waiting to get one; This product is the best! Works Great! I just ordered another one for my friend in India; He has internet; send him this and BANG call for FREE!
Does anyone know if the Magic Jack will work in Iraq back to the states?
To John Fletcher,
Yes, it works in Iraq (requires broadband) Just plug it in and make calls to the USA for free!
Thanks Stan, My son in law is there, he has broadband, (using Skype) but I believe this might be better. Getting one off to him tomorrow.
If i order a magicjack, how long does it take to arrive, or to you have different delivery options? Does anyone knows?
I live in NC and it took about three days to get mine. that was six months ago and it may take longer as I belive they selling a lot more of them now.
Come on MAGICJACK come out next with a Free WIFI cell phone!
I wil be the 1st to buy one from your company…
I ordered my on the 11th of February and got it on the 15th. Paid by credit card. I live in GA.
Patty, You did not say if you are runnin Windows XP or Vista. Magicjack will not work with any other os
Navy wife, I got mine in four days, works very well.
I’ll be buying 7,777 magicJacks for my Home-Based Agents who will answer my 800# for me.
I am Canceling Time Warner Cable Phone Service and Vonage.
How DARE both Time Warner charging me $32 a month for VoIP Phone service, and Vonage! VoIP charging me $63 a month for so called business service!
I hope both of them realize that magicJack is gonna hurt their VoIP phone service sales.
Bob
And another tidbit to both Time Warner & Vonage - magicJacK and both my 800# services have Caller ID service right on my screen and my 800#’s also send an eMail!
Bye Bye Time Warner & Vonage VoIP Phone service.
Bob
Received my MagicJack on Friday, February 15, 2008. It took exactly 2 weeks for it to arrive after placing the initial order. Not bad!
Plugged my Nortel Vista 350 into the MagicJack and then popped MagicJack into my USB port and after a quick registration and phone number selection…presto!
I was in business! Made numerous long-distance phone calls in Canada that night and the next day without any problem. No echoes, no static, no drop-offs or lag!
Truly amazing for a guy that isn’t easily impressed! Hats off to Dan Borislow!
Dan seems to be a man for the little guy.
I retired a year ago and moved 7 hours north of where I lived most of my life.
My cell bills were in the neighborhood of $350. per month.
Now on a fixed income, I can call till the cows come home anywhere in Canada and the United States.
I like the fact that I now have a lower Manhattan, New York city phone number, considering I live in Canada.
People just can’t figure it out!
Dan…if you could just do something about gas prices next!
Pete…I used to live in Manhattan in the mid-90’s until I realized I couldn’t afford to live there! LOL
WOW in Canada! Great! I could have used magicJack in Canada while escorting Superloads this time last year. I love the idea you could be in a rest area talking on a phone with a coiled line hooked up to a little box hooked into a USB port. As long as WIFI is available.
I agree with Studioad. Come on YMAX magicJack, you have your own network, why not add in cellular? Put your own satellite in space. I’m sure when you do, Verizon or AT&T will be selling magicJack or something similar.
Bob
I dont know if you guys notice it but on many websites that talk about VOIP services- like how much
services cost from month to month- all the stupid minute plans -I notice that they never bring up the Magicjack.
When Magicjack is the best phone deal in the last 50 years.
No paper bills in th email, with forclosures going on everywhere this product I know has helped out lots of families.
I really enjoy going on thier webpages and adding a comment or 2 ,most people think the 20 $ a year is an introductary offer like on credit cards and/or Comcast crappy combo deal.
I have to agree with Petes satellite idea also.
I just got off the phone with Time Warner Cable and was told I would save $20 a month by removing Digital Phone service.
Let’s see…..$20 a month savings x 12 months = $240 savings a Year! WOW!
I’ll still have a fantastic, but very expensive Digital cable service with Premium Pod service, HBO and Pod, Cinemax and Pod, Showtime and Pod, TMC and Pod, STARZ, Encore &
RoadRunner for High Speed Internet access.
Down from $175 a month to $155 a month.
That means I could buy 6 magicJacks for $240.
Hmmmm…………I need to buy new computers anyway. I might as well make phones out of them. LOL
Vonage is next. Let’s see again. $62 a month x 12 months = $744 a Year Savings! Double WOW WOW! NO PHONE BILL EVER AGAIN!
The 800#’s are paid for except for the minute charges I can do nothing about.
YMAX magicJack are you in the 800# service business?
Now all I have to do is test my FAX machine out.
Bob
I love you guys!
Obviously, you are as impressed and excited about MagicJack as I am.
I have sent out an email to EVERYONE (a very large list) in my address book regarding my experience with MagicJack and I suspect, if most of them have any smarts whatsoever, that they will be purchasing MagicJack products soon.
I have info on MagicJack on my FaceBook. I have info on MagicJack on my Blog. I have info on MagicJack on some of my Forums.
Dan Borislow, could have been greedy like all of the regaular phone, cell phone and VOIP providers and charged us say, maybe 10 bucks a month and we still would have loved it. But no…for whatever reason, and that’s why I like people like him, he put a terrific product on the market that anyone, especially fixed income folks like myself, with an internet connection, can finally afford to use a phone at a cost that in today’s world of technology should be the norm.
I wonder how long its going to take for many of the other phone service providers take notice and either start whining, attempt to take Dan to court on some technicality or do what any mature, large, multi-national old company should do, and that is suck it up, stop being so greedy and bring your prices in line or at least close to that of MagicJack’s or shut up and fold up their businesses!
Bell, Rogers, Skype, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and all the rest of you…if you don’t like what I just said, give me a call on my MagicJack number, I’ll even pay for the call!
Fax machines do not work on Magicjack. However if you play with the speed of your fax machine and slow it down to the lowest setting it might work.
Anyone want to start a directory of our magicjack numbers. We can call each other and swap Magicjack stories and tech stuff we have learned. I’ll start my niumber is 703-825-4235
Jerry Marten…..Now why did you have to go and say something like that “Fax machines do not work”. You mean there is a con against the magicJack?
Pete…..LOL. ya gonna flip the bill. LOL
Bob
I think magicJack is creating a directory for its network. It has over 4 million numbers so far. WOW. Can you imagine over 4 million magicJacks have been sold since April ‘07! Somebody is makin mulla; wumpum; Federal Reserve Notes.
If you have $1,550 you can Re-Sell magicJacks. You buy 50 minimum for $31 each and Re-Sell for whatever price you want. Who got the bucks here? I have the website to display your Ad for just $1 a sale you make. I can have the user click on the Ad and send them to your email. Interested?

ERROR!
Correction.
In my post on February 17th, 2008 11:26 pm, I said “Can you imagine over 4 million magicJacks have been sold since April ‘07! ”
Sorry, that is not correct. I don’t know how many magicJacks have been sold.
I was referring to the number of AOL members that signed up for discounted phone service way back when.
Whew! Sorry ’bout dat.
I’m sure the magicJack is selling like hot cakes though.
Bob
I would like to do a fund raiser and raise money to give Magicjacks to all the troops so they cold talk to thier families all year for free.
Does Grand Central cost anything to get a phone number? If not, please invite me.
The MagicJack website is kind of … empty. It doesn’t have a lot of details to answer my questions.
studioad, just sent one to my son-in-law in Iraq. He should have it in about 9 days. I can\’t wait to see how it works from there. He and my daughter chat on skype, but the voice quality is really bad, it drops all the time. I hope the Magic Jack will work better. I also sent him a cheap phone to use. I will keep you advised. I support you plan to send them all overseas to the battle zones. Maybe if we provide the yearly service, the company will give us a discount on the unit itself.
Josh K …… You can get more info about magicJack through the Reseller program.

I just ordered the magicjack but first went to the sales chat and asked a couple of questions. They answered the questions and the gave me a coupon code that saved me $2.00 and there was a shipping and handling charge for $6.95
I’m going to try to use a fax machine w/magicjack and hope it works because I have to have one for work. Has any one got a fax to work with it?
I’ve checked into the grand central and it sounds to be pretty cool. I’d love an invitation if possible.
This web site is great.
I just received an e-mail sayign that my order has been filled and it appears that know I’m not being charged for shipping and handling and received the $2.00 discount total being $37.95
To get Grand Central go to their site and fill in the information. They will send you an invitation if a number in your area is available.
Thumper the fax won’t work. The most I have been able to do is send one sheet at a time but when it get to the other end it can;t be read. I spoke with MagicJack support and they said they don’t support faxing but I should set the fax to it’s slowest setting. I have not tried that yet but will soon.
Will MagicJack work with Windows 98? Will MagicJack ever be capatible with fax machines? Would you have to keep your phone company service in order to use your fax machine? I have ten phones in my home. Will all ten of my phones work? Can I hook all my phones to a ten way splitter ( if there is such a thing ) and connect them to the MagiJack?
Ava,
Not sure about Windows 98 and or the fax.
You should be able to disconnect the main phone lie coming into the house and plug in a phone cord from the MagicJack to a existing phone jack in you wall to send the phone signal throughout your home. You can’t do this on the same phone line that you have DSL if you have DSL.
interested in magic juack. does someone have there phone number to to order. also, will it wo0rki in the philippines
Do I have to have my computer on all the time to receive and send phone calls?
Hi Dick,
I havn’t received mine yet but from what I under stand you do have to leave you computer on for now to be able to talk. But you don’t have to have it on just to receive calls they will go to voicemail not shure how that works yet. I read that there trying to have ones to walk up your motherboard when it’s sleeping.
Hope this helps.
Thumper
I REALLY LIKE MAGICJACK NOW!
I received my MagicJack on February 15, 2008.
I love it!
TODAY, I received yet ANOTHER MagicJack in my mailbox.
I didn’t order two!
I checked my PayPal account and, NO…I wasn’t charged for this obvious error.
The sales ID was identical to the first one.
I wonder what is going to happen next Friday?
Will there be another one?
Its going to make a nice birthday present for my daughter.

I just read this quote on:
http://eon.businesswire.com/releases/magicjack/network/prweb605881.htm
“magicJack is the only device of its kind backed by its own network. With 42 gateway switches in major metropolitan U.S. cities and interconnection agreements across the country, YMax Voice is one of the newest and largest U.S. phone networks and can therefore offer the highest quality voice service at the lowest cost in the industry. The YMax Voice network is one of the only competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) networks in the U.S. certified in all 50 states. “As proud as I am of my invention the magicJack, it takes a backseat to the network we built and all the interconnections set up. The network is what took three years to accomplish. It is something no other company has ever done before and it would be very difficult to replicate. This is the core of YMax,” Borislow said.
If anyone is having trouble with your telephone extensions you can buy an AC powered USB Hub for around $25.00.
Can you keep your phone number,,,,,,,,,,would hate to have to notify everyone of a change ………… is there any customer service available ?? thanks

I made this statement:
“Good News!
The magicJack Phone Number Directory has begun.
Its Phone Number is Toll Free 800-711-4451 (not a magicJack # LOL)
$10 a listing.
See http://www.pevoosow.com/magicjack.htm
Bob”
Well, I was told by a particular person at the YMAX Reseller program that YMAX was not interested in hosting a Directory. My question to them was:
“May I have permission to host the magicJack Phone Number Directory?”
This is what I was told:
“Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I had checked this request with Ymax and they are not looking to develop a directory.”
As you can see, my question was NOT answered. I’m a data man and I would have no problem at all creating the Directory. I’ve been working with databases since 1982. That’s ok, I signed up with the Reseller program anyway.
magicJack is a great product.
Everyone I’ve talked to about it, more than likely bought it.
Bob
I see only two problems with the magicJack:
1. FAX compatibility, and
2. Secure USB connector attachment.
The USB connector I use is on the back of my laptop. I noticed there was no signal on the receiver when i lifted it up to make a call. So I checked the connection and whoa, it was loose because a couple of power cords were laying on it and knocked the magicJack loose from the laptop.
So weight will knock it loose when moving equipment around like a FAX machine. I had moved the FAX machine earlier and didn’t notice the power cord from the FAX machine, along with my printer power cord, rested right on top of the magicJack.
Bob
I too would like to know a contact email address and phone number of MJ to ask questions that are not answered on site. This is good business practice.
I ONLY have a Verizon CELL phone. I DO NOT have a house phone. I ONLY have a Verizon National Access Broadband INSERT CARD for my laptop.
What do I need to do to take advantage of this MJ service? Will MJ work with my Verizon National Access Broadband INSERT CARD for my laptop?
This MJ does look interesting and I would like more details about meeting my needs.
Thanks
My magic jack keeps asking to plug into a usb port. I noticed in device manager it has a yellow triangle by the cd and dvd drives. It works fine on my laptop and did here on my desktop for about 4 days all the usb ports are working as other things i plug in seem to work except for my cd/dvd player and magic jack which have the yellow triangle. Any suggestions
If your Magic Jack ask so - Please download UPDATE software:
http://magicjack.com/site/magicfix.html
Download MagicFix and your done!
Good Luck!!!!
I still don’t understand when you have your own area code, how anyone can call you for free????????? Thanks Dick
Hi Dick,
If someone can call you at your area code and its freefor them it’s free. If there calling long distance then long distance fees my apply unless they have something like the MJ and then they can call anyone in the USA and or Canada for free. Hope this helps.
Thumper
I hadn’t had a chance to let everyone know that I received my MJ and I’m not 100% satisfied yet. I first had problems getting it installed. The MJ tech support had me to uninstall MusicMatch Juke Box and then install the upgrade from MJ website and the recovery program from MJ website and then it installed and works fine most of the time. Sometimes the connection is scratchy but most of the time it’s nice and clear. I like it I’m soon to disconnect my land line and save all that money.
try this guys. Somehow I got this email address of a mj tech dude. He tried to help but when his suggestion didnt work, I did not hear back from him. Dont get rid of that land line just yet. There are several bugs with this thing and those who lost their land line have a hassle getting it back
sorry here is the address

Ok everyone, here’s the latest.
As you all know, I have been experimenting with the magicJack.
This is the way I used it until his afternoon.
I setup a Dell E1505 Laptop two rooms away (about 30 feet) from where the Time Warner Cable was attached to a Cable Modem to a Desktop computer.
I attached a Linksys ‘N’ Router.
My Laptop seemed to be working, even though it had a DELL ‘G’ Wireless Card. All month I had to reset the Cable Modem, Router and Vonage. I also had to play with the wireless settings on the Laptop. I did this about 3 to 5 times a day for a month.
The magicJack worked fine and also showed me when it was not connected to the internet.
Well, this afternoon Time Warner installed a Cable Modem for my Laptop. WOW! magicJack has not lost a beat since. It is always connected to the internet.
Thank you magicJack for creating such a fine product. IT WORKS GREAT!!!
I was just approved to be a ReSeller for magicJack. I know without a doubt that I can sell those magicJacks.
Ok magicJack, stop selling the magicJack so I can sell them. LOL
Bob
Hi Bob,
Great news on being a reseller. How much are you going to be selling the MJ’s for? I’m looking to purchase 3 to 5 more.
Thanks,
Thumper
Hi Thumper!
Great!
I’ll sell them to you then.
In fact, as a ReSeller, I am legally bound by the Agreement to “resell … for no less than $39.95 per unit”.
So, if you see it sold for less anywhere, call me and I’ll let magicJack know of the infraction.
I am setting up a Christmas page for my store dedicated to the magicJack. I’ll be taking orders starting Feb. 15th, 2008.
I’ll store up all the magicJacks, then dropship them for you the first week of December.
Remember, all orders must be accepted thru my store, except for single units needed now.
I will take orders for single units, but I order them 50 or more at a time from magicJack .
Bob
Bob,
Are you saying that if I order them today it won’t be till December till I receive them. Also I purchased mine for $37.95 with no shipping.
Thumper,
I don’t know how you got it at that price. It can’t be sold forr less than $39.95 plus shippinng. I personally refuse to pay for shipping. Better check the source of that sale.
This is my plan.
If the current magicJack is still in beta, then I will order them in October. Maybe the magicJack will be out of beta then.
I will only be accepting xmas orders, unless I get 50 orders wihin a 2 to 4 day period. Then I’ll order them immediately. I only order in lots of 50 because it makes pure business sense.
magicJack does not sell low to resellers. I don’t know why. maybe magicJack should sell with a lower price to resellers. Then resellers would be happier.
When a reseller only sells 1 or 2 a week, then a reseller isn’t to happy. That’s because magicJack is selling directly to the public.
We resellers have to order a minimum quantity. To keep them in inventory is not good business sense. magicJack will have our money and we get few customers.
Their marketing model is different from normal supply practices. Their selling price is WAY TO HIGH for resellers to stock magicJack inventory.
So, if customers order for xmas, it is better for me and magicJack.
Bob
Bob,
I Understand. How I got that price was from MJ web site. I asked the chat live tech. a couple of questions about the MJ before purchasing it and they said if I ordered it then they would give me a discount of $2.00 and gave me a coupon code to enter in when purchasing it. I didn’t order it right then and the coupon code still worked later on that day.
Thumper
Thumper,
That’s why I think magicJack should stop selling direct. They expect me as a reseller to sell for no less than $39.95. How can I compete? I can only order a minimum qty. Plus they sell at a high price. Doesn’t make sense. Do you know what I mean?
I was told they have a number of resellers in the USA to handle the orders.
I don’t no why they keep adding days to their Free Trial offer too. Why?
Let me look and see what it says……..it says until March 10….20,000.
They’ve been at 20,000 for almost 4 days now. LOL
Bob
thanks for this nice post about this skype and cable phone
Is there anyway the MJ can be connected so that it stays on all the time even when my PC is turned off?
To Barb -
The only way I think it can be done is internally. I suggest you don’t open the magicJack. I think that if you bridge between pin 12 of the signal chip to pin 4 of the ViOP chip, then put a 15 ohm shunt on the relay chip, you might be able to trick the magicJack into thinking it is still online. Be sure you don’t have your iron tip too hot or cold when you solder the connection. Of course this is all a mythical supposition. lol
All kidding aside, Voicemail can take messages for you when the magicJack is off.
Fm Bob
Consider this… while im in Mexico - (there are a LOT of free wifi spots in mexico) I can use my laptop parked in front of some wifi, and then use a phone to make and receive call to/from the US for FREE. You guys have any idea how much I save on calls to the US from MEXICO (probably the most expensive phone service in the world thanks to Carlos Slim - the richest guy in the world thanks to his strangle-hold on mexico telephony) I just hope he isnt able to block the internet port for this service like he has with Skype in mexico (sometimes)
3/10/2008 I can’t make and or receive calls today and I went to there tech chat and the screen gave this message:
Important!!…. We have been informed that at least one of the major internet providers is having outages. This will unfortunately affect MagicJack and so on etc.
Is any one else having this problem.
sorry I entered the wrong date today is 3/12/2008
Hey thumper. i know what you mean. I was giving a demo and couldnt get it to work. lol
I did everything i could. i found out it has been off for several hours now.
do you know how embarrassing it is when you are trying to make a sale and you dont know why it doesnt work!
well i told the guy that this is a misnomer that rarely occurs and that this is the first time it has happened to me. he said “uh huh”
then he said “just like all these new devices coming out, you gotta get all the kinks out first. come back next year when it is v3″.
come to find out the calls wouldnt connect when i got back tto the office. So I checked with Tech Chat and they were down to..
i said ****.
Well, i wonder if T–e W—-r, V—–n, V—-e, S—e and a myriad of others have began a war to slow magicJack sales and create a sense of non performance, when customers began to cancel their service. lol
Hi Bob,
You know he might be right I hope not.but you know it’s still in beta. But since My posting I’ve received a phone call. so it my be bavk on line know. Good luck with you sell you know if was to sell these my self to the general public I would have to sell them for $50.00 to $55.00
Come on magicJack, you can do it! get 50% market share. like a great shoe company says “Just do it”.
We’re behind you all the way.
I just hope all your people have nothing to hide. I hope they have gotten rid of anything that may cause problems. Look what happened to Gov. Spitzer in NY.
Everytime I perform the magicfix mine stays stuck checking network access to the magicjack servers anybody else have this problem
Thumper,
I am building a huge network of Dealers across the country right now. my latest two are in Las Vegas, NV & Cleveland, OH. I am in Newburgh, NY
I told the guy I was giving the demo to “I wore it out”…..lol
He laughed too.
bob you said (have began a war to slow magicJack sales and create a sense of non performance, when customers began to cancel their service. lol)
I agree with yu that’s just what I was thinking I just got off the phone with AT&T and talking with them about cancelling my service and then this happend.
Me too thumper. but mine finally cleared up
Thumper,
Click on my URL. call my number
Bob,
I know that these MJ will sell like hotcakes. They have to once people believed in them because it sounds to good to be true. Lord I hope not I think it’s great but I’m having just a few small bugs or issues with it. Oh I’m in Atlanta, GA
Greetings. Anyone know how close they are to enabling users to use their existing phone number as their MJ number? I’m hoping I can test MJ with a number they give me. If all goes well, I then want to contact V****** and tell them adios. Then I’d like to use the number I’ve been using with V****** as my MJ number. How would this be done? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Thanks:)
Hello sports fans! I bought this gadget (aka. Magicjack) but I can not load the software on my laptop(which has windows vista home basic system). The blue light comes on ,even I get the message,”magicjack driver has been installed successfully” But I don’t see any dialpad or registration form on the screen.I guess some thing is preventing to load this software on my laptop. Is there any body can help fix the problem.
Sam…..do you have any music/video applications that auto-run? It is best not to have any of those applications for multimedia running. magicJack does not like multimedia running when it loads into the computer.
Make sure no other programs are running. close everything you can.
Then try it again.
Bob
Can someone help me with these questions?
Can you make local calls with the MJ?
Can you change your area code later?
Is there a fee from Grand Central to get you a local number?
How do you transfer the local number from Grand Central to MJ?
My DSL is with bell south. When i call to cancel my phone is there any problem.
with AT@T?
Hi George,
No I don’t belive so when I have talked with them and informed them of what I was doing I had no problem they just try to give you a bundle deal at a less cost and then i directed them to magicjack.com and they said that they couldn’t compete with that and I asked the opererator if she would like to have one herself. You know it’s kinda funny I never got an answer.
Hello everyone,
For those who have been told they have to have a phone line to have there internet try asking about a “dry line”. I know through Verizon they have it.
Question: Is it possible to except collect calls when using a magicjack?
I am about to order mine NOW!
how will you know if you are correctly hooked up to your PC? I get a phone pad on my PC ,does that mean i am hooked up all right?
george phelps
I have a comment some people may not like.
I have viewed many blogs and other sources and counted only 51 real complaints about the magicJack.
Now, let’s see some figures here. If 500,000 magicJacks have been sold, which I think more have been sold, a 500,000:51 ratio is Fantastic!
If magicJack only loses 51 people for every 500,000 sold, what other company can even boast such figures?
I can’t think of a company that can make that claim.
Bob
Magic Jack is a trojan horse you pay them to put on your computer. They get to jump into your computer registry, monitor your calls, place cookies so that their advertising revenue can easily flow into your computer uninterupted and IF you object, they can stop your service you paid for.. What a DEAL!!! More horsehit in your face! Want more? how about Skype as the provider.. They pull all your email addresses at will.. didnt know that either -didja?
Decieved where do you get your information?
I checked with Tech Chat last night about 10 pm. I was told that the real-time counter displayed the actual number of people who ordered the trial offer.
WOW! That means that an average count 30,000 per day =
>>>>> 2 , 7 0 0 , 0 0 0 <<<<>>>> $91,810,000 <<<<>>>> $53,810,000 <<<<<
OK, I just lowered my price from $49.95, back down to $39.95.
Dealers, WE CAN DO IT!
Bob
I had trouble with my MJ unit when I first got it and I wasn’t very happy with the ‘tech-chat’ support system either. I actually stumbled across Dan Borislow’s personal email address on another blog and immediately fired off an angry eLetter - Of course, thought it was a shot in the dark. Well knock me over with a feather! He responded personally and he put the head of his customer support staff in touch with me to help me fix the problem.
Long story short - The chap was in touch with me regularly and even overnighted a new unit to me at no charge. Everything is working as it should now with crystal clear reception. I too am one of those cynical, hard to impress types, but these fellows really proved their mettle! They made a true believer out of me and I don’t sing high praises easily.
If anyone is reading this who hasn’t tried the MJ yet, do yourself a HUGE favor and gop for it! I know you’ll be glad you did!!!
I received the magicJack a few weeks ago and installed it as instructed. A word of caution: when you’re installing magicJack make absolutely certain you’re not doing anything else on your computer. Shut down all other applications and focus all your attention on the magicJack installation!
I used it for about a week and really ended up with mixed feelings. On one hand, the reception was exceptionally clear and crisp. On the other hand, I was experiencing 2-3 second audio dropouts every 2 minutes (or so). It got to be pretty frustrating having to ask my callers to repeat themselves.
Needless to say I returned the device before my 30 day trial period expired. Lo and behold I found my credit card was charged the full amount of $46.90. Now I have to take time out of my schedule to straighten all this out.
To close I would say that, for the price, the service/quality cannot be beat. Remember the old saying, you get what you pay for.
the magicjack is still not working .i cannot make a call at all .this is my number404-462-3471
Sorry for my language, but WTF?! That is nucking futs! It’s true how they say technology is growing everyday, but man! Thanks for this resource. Your blog has been helpful for many cool things. Perhaps if magicjack had an affiliate program, I would definitely buy through you if I were to ever get one of these. Thank you again mate!
This deal sounds to good to be true, but it is true.
Watchout Skype, Vonage, Comcast, Verizon, etc…
I’d hate to be a phone company exec right now…
Man, this sure did get a lot of comments huh?
I heard about Magic Jack the other day. I was wondering if it really worked. I think I am going to get one. We always have a computer on the net in our house. My phone bill is about $90 a month, so it would save me over a grand.
Done deal!
We just ordered MJ today. Couple of questions though….Will out area code still be the same and is there ANY way to keep our current phone number? We are a very busy and large family and would hate to change our number, for all of ours kids’ sakes!
Thanks!
I ordered 2 Magic Jacks. I am using one in the back USB port with the extension cord provided. I have a HP OfficeJet 5610 all-in-one installed on this same computer that I would like to install the MJ on with the 2nd device. Is there anyone that has had any luck with 2 MJ’s on the same computer? I can see in my profile that I have 2 phone numbers, but cannot figure out how to maintain 2 MJ applications running. I have another computer, but I am reserving that for work only, in order to reduce any conflicts the MJ may introduce; pc contains telephony software that requires POTS (plain old telephone service) line for operation, etc.
I want to use 2 separate MJ’s to allow the fax to auto answer when we are away. If I share the MJ’s you have to be where the fax is to accept the fax manually. (per HP install info).
PS: I ordered a 3rd MJ today for my daughter in Ohio. She also is in the same business as I working from home. The MJ will give her home phone access, whereas before she relied on her cell for this access.
Potential savings: I will change my current phone service to 1 POTS line only. This alone will save me approx. 75.00usd a month (currently 83.00usd unlimited local/long distance, 800 number, all the frills). I will also go back to my high speed provider currently 54.00usd a month, and combine that service with a local line with no frills/extras, and add in my cable tv, ditching Dish Network at 104.00usd a month. I can see the light and extra money going towards my IRA!!!!
Fax - I will try to install 2nd MJ on my main computer. I work outside of the home during the day, so maybe I will just take the chance (after a restore point backup) and install.
For all those with doubts, I called my daughter in Ohio from Arizona, I asked:
How does the call sound?
Answer: Just like a regular phone.
Is there a delay or pause when you hear me speak? No
I also tried the mute button. Worked like a charm. I have not tried 2 or 3 way calling yet. I have to publish my new phone number to friends and family.
Hi Andrea,
From my under standing you can’t use 2 MJ’s on one computer. I haven’t tried but I need it to work myself so if you get it to work like you need it to please let me know.
Thanks
Thumper
I love my magic jack i just wished they had my area code. But it works as promised.
well thanks .. I also love Magic Jack… Well Its available here
To Thumper:
I will let you know. When there are 2 MJ’s on one computer, it appears that the second one installs over the first one. Not quite sure yet.
I may give tech support a try. I will keep you posted.
Andrea
Thank you for staying in touch.
Thumper
how do u make magicjack ring your actual phone instead ringing only on PC speakers?
Try clicking on menu and click on volume/headset control. Make sure telephone is highlighted
peroperic,
Make sure your ringer on the phone is turned on.
Hi my fellow mj Resellers, this is Bob from pevoosow.com.
I was in Tech Chat and chatted with Marivic.
Here’s a fix for your customers that have a magicJack and can’t receive calls from non-mj phones:
Marivic: 1Please unplug your magicJack. Now go to “Start” in Windows and click on “run”. In there type regedit and press enter.
Marivic: 2Now click on + sign next to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE.
Marivic: 3Click on + sign next to SYSTEM
Marivic: 4Click on + sign next to CurrentControlSet
Marivic: 5Click on + sign next to Enum
Marivic: 6Now find folder called USB. Right click on that and click on “Permissions”. In permissions click on the check mark called “Allow” to the right of “Full Control”.
Marivic: 7Click Ok.
Marivic: 8Now click on + sign next to USB and then find the two folders called “Vid1307″, right click on one at a time and select delete.
Marivic: 9Now click on - Sign next to USB.
Marivic: 10Right click on Folder called USBSTOR and allow permissions.
Marivic: 11Now click on + sign next to USBSTOR.
Marivic: 12Find the folders called “CdRom&Ven_YMAX&Prod_MagicJack&Rev” and “Disk&Ven_YMAX&Prod_MagicJack&Rev”
Marivic: 13Right click on those one at a time and delete them.
Marivic: 14Now exit Regedit and then plug your magicJack in.
Marivic: You can tell your customers to do the steps.
I hope this helps your customers with the same problem.
Personally, I don’t recommend customers to use regedit, but this is what mj recommends. Oh, well. I wish your customers good luck.
Bob
i did check the telephone in the menu/volume headset control.and this is the third telephone i hooked up to the magic jack(usualy telephone ringers are on ) and yes the ringer is on.still no ring when i receive calls???
Okay…. I was on vacation last week and got an email from a media pal in the Boston area with a link to MagicJack.Com.
I ordered one on Thursday (3/26) with the “five year” package… total cost, $96.85 including shipping. Oh… and I didn’t pay for their “expedited shipping”. I also watched their infomercial on the satellite at my pals house the next morning.
They shipped the unit by track-able USPS on Friday (3/27). The unit showed up here in Massachusetts (shipped from Palm Bch Florida) on Saturday (3/28).
I got back here late Saturday night and had it set up by bedtime. There are no area codes available for Western Mass… nor all of Connecticut… so I had to settle for a Worcester Mass (508) number.
One thing discussed above and never commented (that I noticed anyway) in this thread: They allow you to change your phone number ONCE for free. After that, it’s $10/change.
I used the device all night and it failed on about 1 out of every 20 phone calls. Not so bad. For reference, I do also have TWO Vonage lines installed here. They are so-so.
I have spent no less than 5 hours with tech support trying to resolve issues. I was within my 30 trial period and found that I was needing a refund. Submitted chat log showing the inability of the tech support to resolve issues to proper channels as explained to obtain refund and never heard back from them, and did not get a refund. big scammmmmmmmmm.
not happy jack
the magic jack does well for most of use. look up in the post and there is an e-mail address i beleive for the president. shoot him an e-mail and let us know what happens.
Thumper
Hey everyone, hope all of you happy campers are flashing your magicJacks around. Why? Because magicJack is now considered to be a status symbol.
Send us any bad magicJack. We’ll turn them into key chains and market them as such for the elite. They will proudly wear their magicJack key chains with pride.
So the catch is, buy two and turn one into a keychain so you can be spotted by the elite. You elitist, you!
Bob
pevoosow.com
I’m just kidding about magicJack key chains, but it really isn’t a bad idea.
Comments please.
Bob
pevoosow.com
do you still need your regular phone service
I don’t have a landline any longer. I said “Goodbye Verizon”.
I told them, when I had the phone line disconnected, that they should bye all their employees a magicJack(TM).
LOL
I am truly VoIP.
I make all my long distance calls with magicJack.
Bob
oops “buy”
A lady with a Mac, called tech chat 3 times yesterday, and she never got the magicJack(TM) running as a result. Com’on Dan, put some fire under your Tech Chat staff.
She called me, and I was able to help her, and she is now a happy magicJack user.
Since I am a Reseller, she said she will refer all her friends to me. Yeah!
Bob
Let me add this …. she did not have a phone plugged into the magicJack(TM).
I highly recommend that you make sure that a phone is connected directly into magicJack. Not into a fax, or not with a line plugged into the wall.
After a customer makes calls with a phone directly connected to the magicJack, and the magicJack is also connected to a USB port on the computer, then you can experiment with other line configurations.
I know that I, in the past with other devices, experimented with what I thought I knew would work, but ended up reading the instructions, and got it working.
There is one exception though. I payed $10 for that so called Cable Descrambler. Followed the directions. Went to Radio Shack and bought the parts for another $10. Wound a copper wire around a pencil, I think it was supposed to be 3 inches long when coiled. Attached a certain ohm resister or a certain microfarad capacitor. Attached the connectors. And whalla…..a Cable Descrambler!!! Right? Not!
I’ve often wondered how big the coil was supposed to be.
LOL
Bob
Can anyone tell me if a person is calling from a land line to someone who is using MagicJack, will the caller be charged for a long distance call?
I would hate for my friends and family be charged to call me.
Jazzy,
As far as I know, anyone calling you without a mJ, will be billed the same.
But, if the person calling you has a mJ, the call will be free.
With mJ you get:
Free local and long distance calling to anyone in the US & Canada.
Free calls to the US & Canada from anywhere in the World.
Free calls from the US to any mJ-enabled phone in the World.
Hi Jazzy,
It depends if they are calling a long distance number then yes there long distance carrier will bill them. You can pick your number and area code.
Thumper
Until i get a local # for my MJ incoming call will be long distance.
To keep my local friends from paying long distance, i bought a Tracfone with a local #.
George
I do not have a fax machine. However, I send and receive faxes via my computer. I have my modem connected to the telephone Jack. How will this work with Magic Jack. Will it work with Magic Jack.
I just ordered a Magic Jack and had not thought about faxing.
Also, can the Magic Jack be used with telephone extensions. I have 5 extensions in my house. Will I be able to use these telephones with the Magic Jack?
Any info would be appreciated.
I had a problem with my extensions(4) when I got mine. I got a dial tone and could call out but there was not enough power to make the ringer work so I bought a powered USB Hub. That didn’t work either so I bought a Vtech cordless system W/ 3 extennsions ($75.00) and it works fine.
Hi Lady Day
I just stopped using a real fax machine. Why? Because the yellow ink cartridge was empty, and would not let any faxes print.
I had the fax machine connected to Vonage(TM).
Since the magicJack(TM) was doing a great job, I decided to end my Vonage(TM) service.
I was paying $65+ to Vonage(TM) every month for a Voice line and a free fax line. Two different phone numbers.
I had to pay Vonage(TM) $120.55 to cancel my service.
What a rip off !
So what I did, 3 days before I canceled my Vonage(TM) service, was to sign up for the eFax(R) service. Now I get uninterrupted fax service.
I use my printer to scan a document. No problems at all.
Oh, by the way, Vonage(TM) told me I had to keep the Vonage(TM) box. LOL !
I do use Time Warner(R) cable service for a high bandwidth internet connection at the office. But, yesterday (April 19th), I bought a Verizon(R) UM 150 USB Modem for Broadband Access.
I’m using the UM 150 now, as an experiment. The magicJack works!
I unplugged the ethernet connector from my laptop and loaded the Verizon(TM) CD to load the UM 150 driver. Then inserted the UM 150 into a USB port.
I bought the UM 150 because I wanted a truly portable laptop, with a high bandwidth internet connection, to demo the magicJack.
Since I am a magicJack(TM) Reseller, I can sell directly to the consumer via fairs, malls, flea markets, etc.
I can also sell to businesses for their own business use. So I can demo the magicJack(TM) in both instances now, because I have the UM 150.
You can utilize your telephone extensions for use with the magicJack(TM). BUT, first, you must disconnect the main telephone connection to the telephone box in your home from the telephone company. You can still have regular landline service, but the connection must not be part of the extension circuitry you want to use with the magicJack(TM). You can also install a switch to disconnect the telephone company from the extensions, for use by magicJack(TM), or use by the regular telephone company. So you can still have the best of both telephony worlds, but make sure you use a switch if you want both. I think your telephone company can install a switch, if you pay for the switch, and the service call. That’s if you want to keep your regular telephone service.
Have fun with your New magicJack(TM) ! I use the magicJack(TM) for all of my calls. I have no landline, and no Vonage(TM). YEAH !
But, I do have the Time Warner(R) Triple Play(R) cable package with Digital phone, Internet Broadband and Premium Movie Channels @ $240+ per month!
Now, if I can get rid of Time Warner(R), I will be a truly happy man!
Bob
They suck, ripoff, sleazy bastards. Bill ya before trial period ends, plus call quality sucks
Day # 3 with my MJ
It works just like it says it does.
EASY set up / EASY to use
Local area code (even out here in BFE Utah)
So far, ABSOLUTELY no complaints.
I’m sure Qwest phone service will be complaining when I tell them to cancel my service.
Skype killer? Yeah..Nuff said
Can you tell me if magic jack can be used outside of USA and Canada. I am referring to the rest of the world.
what is the address so i can purchase a
magicjack??
john
DO YOU HAVE AN AGENT IN AUSTRALIA THAT I CAN PURCHASE FROM ??
JOHN
I am not actually Dan the Inventor but I have a few concerns listed below regarding the Terms of Service that I find disturbing
These are directly from the website which I might add could use some improvement the YMAX site is much better. The ticker for instance has a number on the home page and when you go through the mac download instructions it’s completely different. I understand it must be difficult with all the competition out there trying to squash this product, not everything is as it seems on the internet however, I find it a little unsettling to see so many negative comments being posted almost 10 to 1.
With that said My experience has been mostly positive…..but…
BY COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS AND CLICKING THE “I ACCEPT” BUTTON, YOU INDICATE YOUR AGREEMENT TO BE BOUND BY ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT AND ABIDE BY THIS AGREEMENT, YOU MAY NOT USE THE magicJack DEVICE OR DOWNLOAD OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
9. Payment
…….You agree to be responsible for any applicable taxes, fees, or charges, now in force or enacted in the future in connection with the license and your use of the magicJack device.
10. Privacy Policy
You understand that by using the magicJack device you consent to magicJack’s collection and use (as set forth in the Privacy Policy) of this information, including the transfer of this information to and from the United States and/or other countries for storage, processing and use by magicJack, its affiliates and business partners to provide you with information about communications-related service. http://www.magicjack.com/privacy
11. Advertisements
You also understand and agree that use of the magicJack device and Software will include advertisements and that these advertisements are necessary for the magicJack device to work and for the service to be free in the first year of the agreement (and subsequent licenses to be at minimal cost). Advertisements will be served through the magicPage™ Software. magicPage™ Software attempts to serve local advertisements and classifieds using a completely automated process that enables us to effectively target dynamically changing content. Our computers may analyze the phone numbers you call in order to improve the relevance of the ads.
13. Modification
magicJack reserves the right to modify or discontinue the magicJack device and Software, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice to you. We will not be liable to you or anyone else in the event that we exercise our right to modify or discontinue the magicJack device or Software
17. Limitation of Liability
magicJack will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages whatsoever (including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits or confidential or other information, for business interruption, for loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the magicJack device or Software, even if magicJack has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
22. Waiver and Severability of Terms
Even if magicJack does not exercise or enforce any or all of its rights or any provision of this Agreement it does not mean that magicJack waives the right or provision, and we still enforce those rights and provisions later.
With all that said I think some legal jargon here could concern a few people that actually read this before clicking I ACCEPT.
By the way The Magic Jack works great, you did it again! By the way what are all these agreements with BellSouth and Verizon and why is MJ not public to be traded I would like to capitalize when the big guys wanna buy you out?
good luck at the races with my $40
Dan
Questions:
CAN I KEEP MY OLD PHO NUM WITH MAGICJACK?
TO: William Whitmore:
Yes, but not yet. You will be able to transfer or port your existing local phone number to magicJack, for a nominal fee, in the coming months.
TO: Dan (not the inventor):
If you don’t like the terms under which you may enjoy the benefits of the magicJack(TM), then start your own company and write your own terms, or instead, go buy one of those skype phones. lol
I laugh because one of my friends bought one of those new skype phones and is VERY disappointed in its operation. For instance, you would have to have one of those phones every 5 miles in a straight line from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco, AND the signal will take forever to reach the other end, and back again to you. lol.
Stop complaining and spread the word about the magicJack(TM)!
Remember that magicJack(TM) has it’s own phone company. Skype doesn’t.
Another thing to consider is that magicJack(TM) is here to stay, and may become the largest VoIP & CLEC telephone company in the World! Sooner than you think. (My opinion.)
Help magicJack(TM) reach their goals. If you can’t sell them, send people to me.

No problem
It depends on your computer access to high speed internet connection, direct
connect, or wireless, in Columbia, Mexico & Spain.
Get one magicJack(TM) for each person, in each country.

How many magicJack(TM)s do you need?

We have two magicjacks for two laptops and have had them for over a month. The only problem that we had was, that we were trying to use the old analog phone and we had terrible connections. Our cousin has two magicjacks and suggested that we try using digital phones.
Our set-up is:
two laptops
two Verizon wireless broadbands
two 5.8 digital cordless phones (which makes it portable-walk around the house & outside)
We gave up our landline after 30 years of highway robbery.
We still have our cell phones, but was able to downgrade the service plan that we are on.
We are just waiting for magicjack to offer our area code, which is pending.
We tried Skype and it was terrible service.
The magicjack has already paid for itself.
We have been a talking walking advertisment for magicjack.
Magicjack does everthing it advertises and does a whole lot more! It saves a ton of money.
Hey, southeast,
I’m using a Verizon UM 150 on my laptop. Are You?
Bob
I want to sell majicjack, I love this product. Can\’t wait to see what’s next.
Bob,
We have the Verizon Air Cards, nationwide broadband. It allows our laptops to be totally portable. Don’t have to worry about WIFI, etc. We, also, have the Verizon Antenna, which plugs into the Air Cards. This gives a stronger signal strength if you are in a dead zone or in a rural area. We have not had any interruption of service. We live in the city and don’t need the antenna, but we keep them plugged into the Air Cards all the time.
Having our laptops, air cards, magicjack and the 5.8 digital cordless phones, the spouse and I don’t get in the way of each other when it comes to making calls or using the internet. It can’t get any better!
Southeast
Southeast,

You have a nice setup. I like the Laptop setup I have too.
I use the DELL Inspiron E1505 laptop with Windows XP SP3 and Verizon UM 150 Broadband Wireless USB stick to demo the magicJack. I think what really gets their attention, is when I plug a cheap $6 princess phone into the magicJack and let them call someone.
Bob
can you use the majic jack on all the phone jacks.what if the power goes out .you would be kinda screwed cause there would be no power so there would be no phone.we have version basic with no long distance .It is $15.00 dollars a month.I would like to try one but have limited income and don\’t know if it would be worth it.like to have feed back about this if any one has any.
Amazing how many users are willing to accept adware programs, especially when they have to PAY for those programs. Read their terms of service policy, section 11, Advertisements. Their magicPage software that must run on your host is adware. Oh joy, you get to pay for spam.
TO: AdwarePhobic
Why do I waste my time?
Hey AdwarePhobic, let’s say you are absolutely right. How does one pay for spam?

If i send a majic jack unit to India, and I also have a majic jack in the USA, is it free to make phonecalls between India and USA?
mitch:
As far as I know, YES.
Bob
Hi I have a cuestion.. INCOMING calls are FREE. BUT OUTGOING calls; Do I have to pay a FEE and how much to make a local & long distance calls IF the other person I calling not have (MJ) …..Because I know If both parties got (MJ) incoming-outgoing are free. Thanks have a nice day!
Just received MagicJack yesterday in the mail, and this little wonder works right out of its package and without a flaw. Took less than 2 minutes to install and register, and I have been making calls since receiving this little wonder, and not a single person complained about the voice quality and it is clear as can be on my end. Looks like I’ll be dropping Vonage this coming week. This is a must-have for those personally or even for business.
Come on everybody, magicJack is the real deal!
Let’s hear from more of you. like Joseph. We know you have had good experiences.
I’m tired of seeing bs statements from the opposing flank.
I think they know they are up against a powerful new product.
They are jealous, and don’t know where to turn next. They are in so much shock, they will say anything to bring a good thing down. All because they don’t want to lose income. LOL. Change is a given. Change, or you will go down by your own demise.
Dan, your employees, and your Resellers, don’t give up the ship! TELCOM REVOLUTION II has begun, and magicJack won’t be the loser.
With the best phone company and products, magicJack can’t lose. People will know the truth. magicJack will set you free!
Never Pay a Monthly Phone Bill Again!
Bob
I work from home, I give my company my local number and they give me an 800 number where calls are then routed too. Clients will call me via my 800 number. will this be a problem? Are there any fees other than the inital start up- long distance, (any hidden cost).
I purchased four MagicJacks because I found the cost benefit ratio to be good for now. But my only problem is that there is an increasing delay in voice transmission while the communication is going on, especially with people oversees using the same MagicJack. When we swicth to Yahoo Messenger, the sound quality is perfect; so I can not accuse our hardware. How to fix the problem?
Ladies & Gentlemen:
I have an announcement to make. As a Reseller of the magicJack, I am proud to say that magicJack past a BIG hurdle today. The magicJack website has now surpassed 100,000 hits in one 24 hour period today! The magicJack hit counter begins at 0000000 each 12 Midnight. It surpassed 100,000 at 4:59 PM EST on Friday, May 30, 2008.
This is incredible. By the end of June 2008, magicJack sales will more than likely reach the 1,000,000 mark.
ATTENTION ALL Wireless Companies: Watch magicJack break all records! It is on a roll, and all indications point to 20,000,000 sales by the end of 2008! (This is solely my guess, and not a magicJack estimate.)
I personally have been tracking the magicJack website. So I know what I am talking about!
WOW! I am excited! I am Proud to be a magicJack Reseller!
Bob Barber
Well, here’s the latest: last nite at 12 Midnight, May 30, 2008, the magicJack website had a visitor count of 245,400. WOW!
At 7:28 AM on 5/31/08, the count was 78,375. They may do it again.
magicJacks are being sold !!!!!
magicJack Website visitor count at 12 Midnight, May 31, 2008 is a new record!

Ladies & Gentlemen:
I have an announcement to make. As a Reseller of the magicJack, I am proud to say that magicJack past a BIG hurdle today. The magicJack website has now surpassed 433,906 hits in one 24 hour period today! It meet 433,906 at 12 Midnight on Saturday, May 31, 2008.
Bob Barber
I bought Magic Jack a month ago and it has worked perfectly for me. I’m not ready to give up my regular landline yet, but Magic Jack saves me tons on long distance calls.
Hi everyone,
I’m having problems with my MJ with incoming calls. My callers keep receiving a message saying that all circuits are busy now. This has been going on for some time now. I’ve been wanting to disconect my land line but the MJ is not reliable enough. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Thumper
Hi Thumper!
Hopefully that problem will end soon.
To Bob Barber, I just finished reading this entire blog and I am amazed at the bad comments about MagicJack. I purchased two units several days ago and sent one of the units to the Philippines so we can have free calls with family there. I have had no problems what-so-ever with MagicJack. I talked almost an hour with my brother in Idaho and I had no complaints at all. I just filled out the application today to become a reseller because I know this product will sell like hotcakes.
To Roy,
Congrats!
Please let me know when they send you the application.

The problem has been nonstop for over a month. I have turned off my computer and noticed that the problem is gone for know. I have my number forwarded to my cell phone and its working again for know. It must be some kind of conflict with my computer. But being that it’s been messing up for so long no one calls me on that number anymore.

magicJack reseller program was great. (Wish the customer service for prooduct was as good!) Received application from Andy(at)andymedia.com on behalf od Proactive Events, the sole distributor. 50 unit minimum and off I go!
Can you call outsided the US with MJ. To S. Korea to be exact. I have even bought international minutes. Still wont connect.
Thumper,
It may be just the area code that you selected for your home line. You might try a different area code, though that would kinda suck. You can also change your number prefix. The Sarasota area code (941) offers 5 or 6 different prefixes. Try changing yours, and I’ll bet you have much more efficient inbound calling. Sometimes prefixes in an area code area can be over crowded, and the switching to that prefix in that area code will give you an “all circuits are busy” message. Try changing your prefix. I know that you can change your number one time for free, so it would be worth the try. I have never had that problem, but then I picked a prefix that is local to a rural area just for that reason. No overcrowded circuits.

Hello,
I just ordered my first magicjack and am excited already. I am anxiously awaiting it. I hope it will work out fine.
I do have a question though that I could not find the answer to on the website.
I want to use it for my dish receiver (prepaid) to get it activated and orders movies, etc. WIll it work with the DISH receiver?

waiting for Canadian area codes
I would like to know, if its possible to put 2 magic jack on one computer? DO I need a computer on all the time to have magic jack?
Is there a USB to RJ 45 adapter?
Major Announcement. Today, magicJack’s International Calling has gone World Class. How you Ask? magicJack now uses at&t exclusively to complete these calls. You still get the same great low magicJack price.
Anybody know when the Canadian area codes come active?
I like the magicjack, still having some problems, I just find out the answer to my problem. I have to agree with the that person about about getting your money back. I\’ve been over charge and catching hell getting my money back. I had to use someone else cell phone, they send the information to their voicemail and they are out of town for two months. I can call out, but others who call gets a message. Any suggestion. thanks,Shirley
Hey Bob am having troubles getting MJ to load properly Everything loads find until it gets down to the little part in the space above the keypad. The phone nummber pops up OK, but— all of a sudden the statement \
I am currently living in Germany and my daughter is in Florida. I would like to purchase MJs for both of our Macs. Will this really work? Should I buy digital phones? I will have to keep my german phone for local use but it sure would be nice not to have to pay for a landline for my daughter. Will they ship to an APO address? Thanks
Bob,
You mentioned that soon it will be possible to retain our current phone number. How soon?
I just spent an hour reading the above messages/information and gained a wealth of information on the magicJack. I plan to purchase this phone device, but not until I know I can keep my phone number.
Thanks,
Lucy
I would recommend cancelling your order immediately if not sooner. lol. The advertising is false and from my experience, they try to charge you immediately upon ordering contrary to the 30 day free trial that they advertise.
Congratulations magicJack Hot Shots!!!!!

I have MJ and i love it. it works great. I bought one more and activated and send it to my brother who works in UAE but it didn’t work because the internet provider blocked MJ website and can’t access it back there. he can’t change the internet provider because they are the only internet provider in the UAE. They also blocked alot of VOIP services in the UAE but some of the people found a way around it to make it work. Is there anyway that you guys know to make MJ to work on countries they block MJ?
Please help if you can .
Thank you.
how do i become a seller of the magic jack many people ask me?

okay you wireless gurus…..
read this: http://www.twice.com/article/CA6574408.html
ill never use this why? one no contact phone or address on site, i dont work with services who do not supply this, 2 aol is one who is being supplied this and aol phone does not offer nothing and has the worst support ever on it.
skype how ever will not be a problem for us and we wil not rid any services we see as a beinifit skype has not been out long now all is using it hell its hardly had time for some moron come in to take them out its not happening all i dont care about howmany reviews this comany made they will fall like the rest who is out to take out other services if not oh well but im not dropping nothing till after its been on market full time over 3 years,
just like vonage was to be good and finding out they charge more then they stated to many law sutes now on vonage, and it happen the same why magic is tring to lol it will fall.
nice idea but again there is no back ups or other plans for upcoming things that will be a possible.
Now that I have gotten a local number I just leave the magic off and have calls forwarded to my cell phone. Who would have ever thought a business phone for $20.00 a year. Thanks Magicjack. And as far as customer service from a live person that you call who needs it. If the magicjack stops working for whatever reason all you do is unplug it and plug it back in. It resets itself. Why do you need to call someone for that.
thats not the point the point!
the pointis if i have client who needs help, how in the sam hell can they get the help, no one wants to search blogs or fourms to much of a hassle for most.
thats my point, not because the product, if i cant call the services or have a real legal issue why hide that information.
its just like many sites i seen all are set so you cant contact them, and most of the time they are seen on tv for scams legal or not, i dont deal with a compnay who don’t supply complaints or help lines.
In addition to the previous comment that I made. You talk about Skype, we’ve tried that too, which ebay owns. Lousy service and they are located outside the USA. They charge monthly fees unless your calling from Skype to Skype. Ebay owns Skype, where is Meg Whitman?
If AT&T is handling the international calls for Magic Jack, where do you think they are going. The Magic Jack service already has the big guys scratching thier heads. Skype has already been in service for some time and they still don’t have thier act together. Magic Jack will be selling the service through QVC in addition to thier present advertisements. And, YES, we are baby boomers with a big savings in our pocketbook. Again, we call the Magic Jack, “THE BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL!
? “THE BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL! a kmart slogon lol
well either way i was never told by the UK Based serivces SKYPE that some and im still in partnerships in many whays with them you music have a fake skype service lol and an American serivce took over hmm. and well i have to disagree on the connections of skype, never have i had any service issues on skype and it was also been tried on dial up as well, still no found issues but ok have a good one all
Stick with Sype and we will stick with Magic Jack.. Oh, and your Point was that you had to talk with someone LIVE or you had to know where the company was located. Have a good day on those long lenghty ON HOLD calls to make a POINT!
We are tooooo Happy with our Magic Jack!
You really did not get the Point, so therefore, with you not being a Magic Jack customer, you wouldn’t understand.
The Magic Jack device has a “Blue Light” literally, which stays on while it has been activated.
The “Special” is what our telephone bill is, $20.00 a year. Show us a better deal.
Try it, you just might like it. And no we don’t have to deal with fake services, we are too intelligent for that, and we think of over 30 years of highway robbery and a Point in mind was: All those years on HOLD!
Checking out and it was fun to put express my POINT!
I’ve never had problems w/ Skype.
Magic Jack is another story:
Even a technician has not been able to connect the Magic Jack for me. He says it’s not compatible. I wrote to MJ and my e-ms are ignored. When I try to get in touch w/ a real person, it keeps giving me the run-around & never connects me w/ anyone.
There was a mistake on the original order and I can’t get to anyone to correct it either. It’s like falling into a blank pit… Don’t fall into the trap!
HAVE HAD MY MJ SINCE 5/05/08. CAN CALL IN & OUT BUT CAN’T UNDERSTAND WORDS ALL BROKEN UP. I HAVE HUGHES.NET FOR INTERNET SERVICE. MY MJ WORKS FINE CLEAR AS A BELL AT OTHER PLACES WITH DSL OR CABLE, BUT NOT AT HOME. DON’T HAVE LOCAL # FOR MY AREA CODE. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION THAT I CAN
TRY THAT IS SIMPLE TO CLEAR THIS PROBLEM UP. ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE APPRECIATIED, THANKS
j’imerais avoir mon magic jack, mais est-ce quont va me donner un numero de téléphone si j’ai acheté mon adapteur phone magicjack.
I am with phimo. Would rather Naked DSL. But i am in Australia and there is really only one provider offering it at the moment http://broadbandguide.com.au/naked-dsl/plans
Skype to Australia is not that great anyway. Even when i PAY

NVM Bob, I found it.
LOL
I just got mine on Monday and tried it on Tuesday in the office. It works great. I plugged it in my Talkswitch and it works fine too. The only problem I have is magicjack has its own voice mail after 4 rings which I can not turn it off so I have to limit my Talkswitch to just 2 rings to be going into my Talkswitch personal voice mail. Talkswitch is my phone system in the office where I can extend up to local extension, 8 mobile extention, and 8 other extions with each of the extension has it’s own voice mail.
PHYL: Hughe.net is a wireless interenet just like satellite, or wireless card which you can get from Sprint or Verizon for your laptop which enable you to have internet access anywhere which will be slow internet access that is why you have cut voice coming and going. I do not recommend using hughe.net for magicjack. I tried magicjack with my verizon wireless vie my laptop and it is not good.
I have WildBlue as my internet access at home and it discontinue the use of WildBlue due to the speed and bandwildth.
MagicJack works well with DSL or Cable Modem. After I installed my magicJack, I discontinue my local phone carrier for my business. I save about $130 / month.
Thank you to Magicjack!
When we talk about services, I really like the online chat. Blake, or Harold really help me out. Magicjack didn’t work on my computer at first. Each time it installed the software, my computer automatically reboot. I chat with a junior helper and he didn’t know the solution so he passed me to Harold who is supposely be the senior helper. I chatted with Harold and he kindly walk me through the process. It turned out I need the latest Java engine installed to my computer plus XP OS need Service Pack 2. After I download java and installed java to my computer somehow my computer refhresh I lost connection with Harold. I logged back in to Online chat and able to chat with Blake and I asked for Harold. Blake said Harold is busy helping others, he would help me. What amazed me is he had track record of the chatting I had with Harold so he is able to continue to help me from there. After the java installed, plugged magicjack back in, magicjack software installed just fine, but I need to registered so I did and receieved a phone number. After the register I was able to dial and receive calls.
Thanks to Blake and Harold, and the junior chat helper.
Yia Michael Thao
dick,
just dial your whole digit phone number, *, then password 1234, and then continue from there per the instruction on the voice mail.

TORONTO and anyone for your information:
I only heard of MagicJack one week before I order my MagicJack thru solicitation emails. I am in no shape of form associate with magicJack although I would love to. The invention is good enough for me. I applause people like magicJack inventor. They are the true people who make our daily life better. I am using MagicJack now in my offices and will continue to use magic in my new phone when I have my high speed internet access established.
TORONTO: I am a software engineering in case you questions my expertise in the area of high tech.
I would like to see magicJack ability to plug into any USB instead of a computer because it is annoying. I have to setup a computer just to handle magicJack for me in the office so it does not bother my work computer. I carried one with me in my computer case so I can use it when I have high speed internet access.
TORONTO: I’m not working for MagicJack. If you have issues with magicJack, go after them not me. I only express what I experienced with magicJack just like anyone else.
Yia Michael
What a great news about future tech
To Yia Michael:
Could you expound on what you meant when you said you got email solicitations offering the magicJack please.
I am a Reseller and I know for a fact that Resellers cannot email anyone about the magicJack.
From Whom did you receive an email?
Ok, let’s do the math:
I guesstimate that magicJack sold 500,000 units by June 14, 2008, per Dan Borislow. At 8,000 units being sold a day, how many magicJacks will be sold by September 6, 2008?
June 14, 2008 500,000 units
June 21, 2008 556,000
June 28, 2008 612,000
July 5, 2008 668,000
July 12, 2008 724,000
July 19, 2008 780,000
July 26, 2008 836,000
August 2, 2008 892,000
August 9, 2008 948,000
August 16, 2008 1,004,000
August 23, 2008 1,060,000
August 30, 2008 1,116,000
September 6, 2008 1,172,000
Have a Happy Labor Day!
Bob Barber,
I will have to find my email. If I can find it I will let you know. I hardly keep emails from people I don’t know.

Hey people. Yes this thing is a backdoor for malware and you are paying for it. The people that fall for this are the same people that fall for every other scam on the planet and deserve all the trouble they get. Your computers have probably always benn infected with something. You probably run Norton AV because you were told it’s the best stuff and will protect you. I laugh at your ignorance but cry at your unwillingness to learn.
However, I’m going to be nice and try to help you defend yourself from this crap. In other words, I’m going to tell you HOW TO protect your system from this Trojan while still keeping up your end of the bargain.
Note: that an EULA is completely worthless without full prior disclosure. Call a lawyer if you don’t believe me. In court, the EULA would not protect the makers of MJ if a customer sued for planting malicious software on the computer. Countless other companies have already been successfully sued for doing far less.
I really could care less if you believe me. I’ve only been doing this for over 25 years. How long you been doing it? Remember you are the prey and always have been. The only difference between me and this company is they’re making you pay for it. I rarely attack common people. These companies are my target. Go ahead and believe the media if you want. They’re experts right? Shyeaah. I might be direct but what I tell you is the truth. If you want to be lied to with a smile….ignore me and listen to the media and these companies. You then deserve what happens to you.
Anyway .. Install a copy of FREE MS VirutalPC. Then install a copy of XP on that VirtualPC. Install the MJ software to that VirtualPC. In the end, your VirtualPC gets the trojan, not your whole computer which you should value but probably don’t because you’re a novice.
For those of you that act upon my warning and do as I have instructed, I applaud you for your willingness to learn. The rest will just get mad and continue on being cattle. Moooooo.

Hi Bob,
I just got my initial order of 50 units yesterday. I would like to know more about your offer of a web site and you will charge me $1 for every order. Please let me know more about it and also would you know if MJ will accept another reseller in the same location??
Thanks,
Danny
Hello everyone, need some help, is there a way to hook up my Cell phone to Magicjack wia an Ari Card. Just a senior novice looking for direction
Hey Shooktroop. You could be right.
Had a problem with MJ that KNOCKED my wirless offline evertime I tried to use MJ. Scary stuff.
Does anyone know where to input the port (TCP and UDP)ports in Router.I have Linksys WIRELESS router WAG54GS.SCREESHOTS WOULD BE VERY HANDY.
Regards,
Larry
is any way to use my magicjack
if the computer is of.??
I have to say this really works.
All the telephone port in my house is working when i plug it in straight to my verizon phone block. I cancelled Verizon and got Cable internet at 16MB speed and my alarm systems is working as well with MagiJack when it trips.
I have an old Dell Lattitude laptop which is dedicated for magicjack runnung 24/7 with a weekly reboot.
In regards to VoIP phones and VoIP technology working with the PC off there are Skype Cordless Phones that connect directly to your router so your PC can be off and your VoIP phone can always be on and you don’t even need a PC!! I think the best one is the GE 28310EE1 phone.
For more information on this phone go to http://www.SkypeMyPBX.com. The datasheets and manuals are all on the brochure tab for more detailed information and set up information. It is really easy to use!
With a Skype annual subscription you get unlimited calls to landlines and cell phones in the US & Canada for only $23.60/yr per line - That’s only $1.97/mo per line and of course Skype to Skype calls are always FREE anywhere in the world!
The GE 28310EE1 and the Netgear SPH200D. They are both expandable up to 4 handsets and both work with out a PC (so you are no longer tied to your computer and your computer can be off) and they can accomodate a Skype-In number and a traditional line! Great for adding a second line or completely replacing your traditional phone lines and drastically lowering your phone bill! These are the top two Skype Cordless Phones. The GE 28310EE1 has the added feature of being able to conference a Skype line and Traditional line where as the Netgear SPH200D does not at this time.
Also if more phones are needed and more features a great small business phone system is the Avaya Partner ACS. AVAYA phone systems were formerly made by Lucent Technologies and prior to that AT&T.
The AVAYA Partner ACS telephone system is the leading phone system in its class (single site location (NON VoIP - VoIP it at http://www.SkypeMyPBX.com ) with under 48 phones) and has sold over 1.3 million systems and comes with 175 built in features! The AVAYA Partner ACS telephone system is comfortable with a capacity of up to 14 lines, 33 extensions/phones and up to 6 concurrent users on the Partner Messaging Voice Mail Solution. Maximum capacities are up to 31 lines or up to 48 extensions and cannot be achieved simultaneously. The AVAYA Partner ACS telephone system has been serving America since 1997 and has had 7 new releases to stay current with technology. This means to you that is tested, tried and true!
Feel free to call me (Kelly Petry) at 863-614-1900 or Skype me at TelephonemanOfAmerica if you have any other questions.
I forgot to mention the website for more information on the AVAYA Partner ACS system - http://www.AvayaPartnerAcs.com
Feel free to call me (Kelly Petry) at 863-614-1900 or Skype me at TelephonemanOfAmerica if you have any other questions.
I have heard mixed things about MJ would like more information on Canadian use of MJ some say its not ready for Canada, where are the area code for this western area of Canada
To make and receive unlimited calls for only $23.60/yr - $1.97/mo - and have your COMPUTER OFF on a cordless phone that is expandable up to 4 handsets and connects to an open port/jack on your internet router get the GE 28310EE1 at http://www.shop.telephonemanofamerica.com/product.sc?categoryId=24&productId=169. The phone pays for itself in about 3 months if your average Telco bill is $45.00/mo.
For the manuals and datasheets go to http://www.SkypeMyPbx.com and go to the brochures tab.
Feel free to call me (Kelly Petry) at 863-614-1900 or Skype me at TelephonemanOfAmerica if you have any other questions.
its really good i do enjoy makin my calls . and its amazing, i make all my calls in Guyana to my fiance and we enjoy talkin that long.
i will like to know whether this magicjack can be working in any other country, and the processes if it is and does it have to be connected to a high speed net.
For Veneta: Magicjack will work in any country as long as that country does not block the internet (like some parts of Mexico) and yes you do need high speed internet. I have sent units to the Philippines and they work good. I sold one to a customer from Mexico and he later came back for 200 more. He intends to buy more units from me and sell them in Mexico.
Roy Stewart, Reseller
My internet service is a wireless antenna system because I live in the country. It’s called mowisp. I have an antenna on my roof that communicates with an antenna miles away (ie. on top of a water tower) and it communicates with company equipment. Will magicjack work for that. I have a VOIP service now that really is erratic and basically we don’t use it. TKs
I bought a MagicJack several months ago-it caused my computer to crash, cost my phone service and lost contact, refused to stay on the computer and took me a long time to get resolved. I finally received a grudging consent to send me a replacement at no cost if I returned the old jack. I got the email 11/10/08 that the replacement was being shipped, got a return lable for the old jack and an email stating I had two weeks to return the old jack before being charged. I noticed 39.95 has been taken from my account and when I tried to contact someone to help me with this, I was told I had better return the jack if I wanted my money back, there was no one to complain to and they could take whatever they wanted. This is not a company I will deal with again. Not only do they sell defective proucts, they go way out to be sure they don’t lose any of the money they have gotten.
I just got one of these today and its nice, it has voicemail, 3 way, as well as caller id, and you can plug it to any pc using high speed internet, its very nice.
And a lot of you have said the software is on the jack itself, no its not, it has to download the software from the internet.
i have had a magic jack almost 2 years, I have recently had reception problems,
to fix this problem i had to buy a $7.00
A/C-USB-ADAPTER >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I think the heat from the computer and every single USB space being used takes alot of power from the computer. This is something that should be sold or sold as an option with the magic jack.
I hope this solves some issues out there.
please post if this fixes your problem…
If your computer is getting that hot you’d better get a case with a high airflow capacity, because your pc will fail very fast.
Just got MJ 3 days ago. So far, very impressive. Clear quality, Voicemail works well and sounds good, and the price makes this a candidate for deal of the century. So far it has made me regret all the phone bills I’ve been paying.
As mentioned before, shut down all running apps, plug in the MJ to USB port, and do NOT touch your PC until it finishes installing all the hardware (will tell you it’s installed and ready to use). If after that, the software does not install, go to My Computer and right click on the CD drive that MJ installed (not the MagicJack drive though) and select autoplay, or explore the CD drive in WinExplorer and click on Autorun.exe.
For Larry: I’m not familiar with that exact linksys router, but they all are basically the same. You need to enter the configuration setup for the router in your internet browser. If i recall, for linksys you enter ‘192.168.1.1′ in the address bar, then enter your username and password for your router. Look for the tab marked forwarding or port forwarding, probably under the advanced settings. Once there, you can enter the port for your TCP and UDP for your PC’s IP address.
And using USB ports should not cause your PC to overheat or even to run hot. Check that all your fans are running. If they are, open your PC case and check for dust. Blow out the dust inside of your PC case with some canned air. Especially blow the fans out well (case fans, power supply, and most importantly, the CPU fan) - they will gather dust inside and under the blades that you won’t necessarily see. Too much dust causes inefficient cooling - excess heat which will cause computer shutdowns, reboots, and in some cases, fried components.
I don’t know what cd you’re talking about, no cd is needed to install magicjack. I didn’t have to stop what i was doing on my pc or shut anything down to install it. Nothing i’ve ever used has pulled a lot of power from my usb’s, unless you are running fans or hard drives from the usb it should never get hot, if it is you need to get your pc professionally corrected. I didn’t have to do anything to my router to use magicjack, and i sgree sometimes the sound quality may drop but its probably because your isp needs to upgrade its wiring. At any raye, its worth a little bad reception for $20 a year.
Sorry about the mis-spelling.. guess this site could use a spell checker lol. Anyway if you’re magicjack isn’t working with any usb port, try buying a power supply for your pc with higher wattage, i’m using a 600 watt psu.
I have had magicJack since July 2008 and love it. I have, I think the slowest computer in Utah and yet it works fine. I live in a retirement community and have to share a electrical breaker switch with my neighbor, so that is when I loose my phone line. To solve that I went out and bought a battery back up for the computer but not the monitor and now when the power goes out I still have phone.
I’m looking for another phone line to use with a fax machine. It looks like this magicjack will work. Now how do I get the free shipping?
Go to radio shack and get one.
Hello everyone;
I’m from Algeria and I have 512kbps Adsl connection
does it work with MJ
thanx in advence
walid.
MagicJack seems to work OK, but their customer service is terrible. They have cloaked their CONTACT methods so heavily that this looks like a scam-company. They offer “5 years for $60″ and I wonder if they’ll be around in 5 months! I have a feeling this is a “take their money and run” kind of company.
I just ordered yesterday 2xMJ’s. I’l give one to my daughter who will be studying for 6 months in Europe. So, if I have her put in her unlocked GSM cell phone an international SIM card: this means we can call her in Europe to her cell phone for free also - by having her call-forward the incoming MJ to the cell phone #. Am I correct?
(all incoming calls to cell phones over there are free with most SIM card plans)
So basically, even if she is away from a computer, I don’t have to buy the international minutes for my MJ to call her cell???
Of course , between the 2 MJ’s it’s free already
yidal8,
i don’t know if that’ll work forwarding it to a international phone number.
The international number dont get charged that’s how europe and asia’s cell services are.
Let me know if it actually works and I’ll let me family do the same thing.
WILL MAGIC JACK WORK FOR CABLE PAY PER VIEW BILLING WHICH REQUIRES A LAND LINE?
Magicjack will not work with dial up or satellite
@yidal
I hope you note that mj phone number is a US fone number. So when you forward the calls to the international SIM, the forwarding call is a long distance call and will be billed by mj accordingly. I do not think you gonna save much by doing this forwarding.
rg
hello guys
this “magic thing” i’m used to call it is very wonderful. Guest what? I live in BURKINA FASO (west africa) and I got my magic thing since may 2008. very magic. now I can save a lot of money when calling my friends and relatives in usa and canada. God bless DAN. no problem using this product. we’re about 8 persons using it here.
SUCH THINGS have to be promoted here in africa
God bless you DAN
for 5$ I can talk to my parents at LOME (togo; west africa) for about more than 1hour. but for the same 5$ when using the national phone service, i just have for about 10 min. and when calling europe, very funny. plenty minutes to talk with peace.
magicjack, really magic
God bless DAN
Hi, Just ordered the majic Jack and hoping it will work here in snowy Montana. Did not think that maybe they do not have a local number for our area yet, does anyone know if the 406 area code is included yet? Thanks…
Judy, 406 area code is available, according to the magicJack FAQ. Hope you enjoy your magicJack. I am a reseller and I have not had one unhappy customer and some have come back for additional units. Happy New Year. Roy S.
Well I have been unhappy with my MJ ever sense I received mine. The tech. support stinks. You can only type in your problems through an online chat session and each time they say the same thing to do reinstall the MJ and install the update. But my main problem is not on my end it’s on there end. My computer can be off and your still suppose to receive calls. The calls will either go to your voicemail or if you have your calls forwarded it should ring your other phone. Well most of the time my callers were getting a message that all circuits are busy please try your call again later. I had the MJ for 6 to 8 months not sure. I had to quiet giving my # out and just use my cell and or land line I was wanting to get rid of my land line but can’t. I’m not using it now but hope that they have this problem fixed some day. So buyer beware there is a major problem with there call system. It would be nice if they would put there tech. support on the phone so that you could talk to them dirrect. Because I have spent approximately 2 hours per session typing talk w/tech support on 4 different times to no avail.
Please if anyone knows of something different or if they have tech support that will answer there phone, let me know.
Thanks in advance,
The unhappy MJ owner,
Thumper
i had magic jack with NO problem and now almost 2 years later out of no where my reception is terrible.
Come to find out my cable modem became obsolete and Comcast could not upgrade it anymore because of its old age.
After the cable guy
came out and replaced my internet modem with a brand new one low and behold my internet is sooo much faster and my MAGICJACK works again like it use to., I am so happy this thing got figured out!
Recently their was a new update,I had to reinstall my MagicJack.
If you cannot understand the MagicJack TECH. then ask them to transfer you to someone that knows more and they will. also if you get someones name that u like you can ask for them again…..
i hope this helps…

Darker side of MagicJack
Read the TOS (”Terms Of Service) for Magic Jack VERY closely. You might
be surprised at what you see there. Or NOT see there. What I am about to
report should make you VERY concerned.
In short … to quote a favorite cartoon character …. “Be Afwaid, Very
Afwaid”.
This is just pointing out the not-so-obvious that is hidden deep within
the TOS, and other ‘gotcha’s’ that you won’t realize until after you
give up your $ and privacy!
First:
Here is the contact info for MagicJack:
PO BOX 6785
West Palm Beach, FL 33405
Magic Jack Phone number: 281-404-1551
Billing MagicJack number: 561-594-2140
CAUTION: it looks like they track the number that calls and places you
into a repeating loop if you call back a second time. so if you need to
call a second time make sure its from a different number.
Second:
In the TOS you agree that everything in your computer is fair game for
them to know about; all web sites, email, and numbers called is *their*
info.
You agree to have all of *your* information resold to third parties.
There is no Un-install for this program. Even if you stop using it, it
continues to gather and store your information.
You are put under high pressure to sign up and pay for 5 years.
There is no published phone number, email address, or mailing address.
All customer support is done via type-in-the-box instant message chat.
There is no written warranty on the box. If it breaks, you have to buy
another to maintain your service.
Computer must be left on to make or receive calls.
A Pop up window comes to the front of the screen anytime there is a call
in or out call.
MajicJack Spyware slows down your computer even when you are not using
MagicJack
Advertising appears in the pop up box.
Yes, you DO save around $150 a year not using a real Voip company, but
that’s a small price to pay to keep yourpersonal information, emails,
calling records and numbers, browsing and other computer info private.
So ask yourself, is it really worth it?
Wait …. there’s more.
Magic Jack is owned and run by YMAX. They are not a stand alone VoIP
provider.
Also …..
The software for the MagicJack does not run directly from the device its
self, instead it fully installs on the Windows system, which also makes
the MagicJack less attractive for situations where one might want to use
it on someone else’s computer (say when visiting family).
There is no easy way to uninstall the software from the system, with the
program not even showing up in the Windows Remove Program window.
MagicJack confirmed that there is currently no easy way to uninstall
their software. The process required to uninstall the software requires
multiple Windows Registry edits and the removal of several folders on
the Windows system its self. Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend using
the MagicJack on the systems of any friends, family or business
associates.” — (see magicjack fails to cast a voip spell link)
Nobody should accept having to leave unwanted software on a personal
computer, especially their friends, or eveb any tell-tale trace of the
MJ program on a public computer, a business workstation, or a borrowed
device.
The key concepts here are action and intent. IF MJ is not actively
monitoring computer activity and collecting data about its customers,
that’s great. They would be taking no action that anyone could be
concerned about.
But consider their intent. Their TOS spells out their intent — and that
intent is to feed content of sensitive advertising, which requires
manipulation of information taken from your brain through all of your
personal information through their software and into their processors.
There seems to be little restriction of what info their software can
“see” and record. (Kind of like your home builder installing bugging
devices and cameras into all the rooms in your house including your
bedroom, But supposedly he is just not yet watching the feed, just
keeping the recordings.)
Then there is the ability of MJ to modify their software (as in
“upgrade” anyone?), at any time, without the common user’s ability to
stop it. That revision clearly includes the spyware coding.
While you, the uncommon and now informed user has the ability to see
what they are doing, the common user has no idea when these changes are
being made.
Now let’s consider MJ’s intent when the deliberately avoided the
building in of an UNINSTALL capability. - I am suggesting that
this act clearly outlines MJ’s intent to have their software on your PC
doing it’s job of recording every move you make whether you’re an active
phone customer or not. Unless a logical explanation can be had that
would be the intent of having their active software on the PC of a
former customer?
(Consider, also, their much touted “convenience” feature of taking the
device with you so you can use it on all your friend’s PCs — thus
installing their software on all those machines too!) What possible
information could that software obtain that would be of value to Magic
Jack, or whoever is behind Magic Jack, amassing this endless flow of
information? (Lots!) And, in actual fact, what could the common
user do to stop it?
MJ could shut down their phone service tomorrow, and they have a window
into 1 million PCs — to feed advertising, log key strokes, and obtain
surfing patterns.
By laughing at the TOS provisions as “fine print”, you are overlooking
the hard cold fact that they are warning you of their intent — and
protecting themselves from future legal action at the same time. If
there is a future problem the statement will be: “We told them what we
were going to do. It was in our terms of service and this customers
agreed.” Case dismissed.
The following taken from thei rEnd User License Agreement (EULA):
“You also understand and agree that use of the magicJack device and
Software will include advertisements and that these advertisements are
necessary for the MagicJack device to work … Our computers may analyze
the phone numbers you call in order to improve the relevance of the ads”.
Any claims, legal proceeding or litigation arising in connection with
the MagicJack device or the MJ software will be resolved ONLY by binding
arbitration … in Palm Beach, Florida.”
In short, it not only does everybody have to agree to ads with the MJ
paid-for system, but MJ claims that the ads are necessary for it to
work. Furthermore, MJ will also snoop on your calls to target all those
ads more accurately, and then forces you to sign away any legal right to
take the company to court if it defrauds or otherwise harms you. -
Delightful.
Neither the EULA itself, nor any other privacy or legal information, can
be easily found on MJ’s homepage. It’s not even provided at the point
of sale, and this is where one enters credit card info, email and street
addresses and such, so that you may gain access to the service, and
have your MagicJack dongle delivered. The only way I found the EULA’s
URL was by extensive surfing through Google.
When you access MajicJack’s instant web help page, a bizarre series of
“compatibility tests” take place first, reporting flat out lies like
“Your MagicJack is functioning properly” even when you don’t have one
installed.
Even the “look how many people came for a free trial”, even the counter
on the homepage is a fake, a javascript applet that increments itself
automatically:
So, now that I have just read The “darker side of magic jack” I am having second thoughts on installing it when it comes, anyone else haveing any doubts or privacy problems?
I have owned MJ since Oct 2007 and have not experinced any problems such a described in previous posts. I enjoy using it and have talked to many people in many different states with no problems.
To Judy,
There are over 300 postings on this blog site, most of which are favorable comments about the magicJack. There are a few unhappy users as well. As a reseller, I have solds units to customers in the Philippines and Mexico as well here in the states with several customers coming back to purchase additional units. I have not received any bad comments from any of the users. One user in the Philippines had one problem that was not the fault of magicJack. The unit would not load up when the PC was turned on. I sent them an update for the program and it did not help. As a computer programmer, I had them run several tests on their PC and I determined their problem was due to too many games on their PC (from their kids) and their hard drive was running very low on storage space. I recommended transferring the games to an external hard drive to give their PC room to operate the way is should. After the games were transferred the PC worked like new (faster and more proficient) and the magicJack worked perfectly.
I constantly check my PC’s for problems mentioned in the previous post and I have never found any files or registery changes. The only advertisments I have seen on the magicJack softphone is ad’s for adding more years of service at a discount, or ad’s for discounted international calling rates. I have used my magicJack for over a year and it is running almost all day and night every day and I never have a problem.
As with every product, you will find a pesimist or town cryer eventually. Some people like to complain with no grounds to what the say. Read all the comments in the postings on this site to get a good over view of user comments. Only you can make the decision if it is good or not. I am sure you will be quite happy with the unit. If you need any information I will give you my email address, if you request it, or my magicJack number. Just post your request here. Good luck.
Roy S.
Thanks for the resonse, I have read almost all of the postings and they do mostly look favorable, so I will try it when it comes from what you have told me, I do not know how these things work much, not much of a computer person, but wondering, I am on verizon wireless and I think unless I am actually using the computer it is not using kilo’s or gigs, which I have a limit of 5 gigs per month which I never even get to 1, I started wondering if this actually will use up some of time allowance? Thanks for all the info…Hope this makes sense!
I’ve had magicjack for 2 months and have never had spyware or virus issues, i have norton anti-virus which, if magicjack did try to collect info, would be blocked from communicating with outside servers.

It states that you can phone U.S from anywhere in the world. I am in the UK and have family in the U.S and need to know if UK telephones can be connected to Magicjack!.

not so happy
I’ve just used my credit card to add 20$ to my international prepaid balance. the notification came from my bank but no 20$ in my prepaid account.
why this? if the secure website is no more secured just tell us.
I can not imagine this
OK for the third time now, MAGICJACK will work with any high speed internet, people read the previous posts i put here. It WILL NOT work with satellite or dial up internet.
Mary, as long as its plugged into a pc with hi speed internet it will work anywhere in the world. No it does not have all the bad things as posted above, some customers have anger issues within the family that they need to get fixed and stop taking out against manufacturers.
Zane you quoted: No it does not have all the bad things as posted above, some customers have anger issues within the family that they need to get fixed and stop taking out against manufacturers.
You shouldn’t tell people things that your not totaly aware of. And yes there is problems that some people have and that the problem is not on there end and it is on MagicJack end (the manugacturers). My problem is on there end. I have never had one single issue with magicjack, it has never slowed my computer down, it has never ever put virus’s or spyware on it, and i’ve never gotten sales calls or emails by using it, SO take your computer to a repair shop and get it fix by a professional.
Zane I never said that I had any of the problems you guoted:
(I have never had one single issue with magicjack, it has never slowed my computer down, it has never ever put virus’s or spyware on it, and i’ve never gotten sales calls or emails by using it, SO take your computer to a repair shop and get it fix by a professional.)
Number 1 first off I’ve never have had a problem on any computer that I couldn’t fix!
Number 2 My issue is if my computer is on or even if my computer is OFF and UNPLUGED and I’m going to let the call go to voice mail my callers receive a message saying that all circuits are busy now and I don’t care how many times you call how often or how many days that you wait to call again you still get the same message. 98 times out of 100 and the other 2 times the receiption is not that good. Even if I have the call forwarded to my cell.
Lets see should I mention how bad the tech support is. Yes I beleive so the only way that they tell the average consumer that they can be contacted for support is with there live chat. I don’t belive it’s really a live person on the other end, becauseyou can ask question after question and they never respond to your question. They tell you the same thing over and over to install the upgrade and or run the recovery. I couldn’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve done this. Since you seem to know whats going on and you like to say negative things about people that have had issues with MJ. Tell me this if the problem is with my computer on my end. Then if my computer is OFF OFF way won’t the calls be picked up by the voice mail that is on the internet. When you go to receive your voice mail you have to go online to receive them.
So please tell me again that I’m the ediot and that it’s my computer that’s the problem. You don’t have to have a computer for MJ to work, you only need one to first install it to set it up to receive a phone number. Then you can let all your calls go to your voice mail and or forward your calls.
Am I wrong?
Thumper
By the way, your voicemails are emailed to you, so you download the attachment and play the message, you do not get them over the internet, to check voicemails you call your magicjack number and enter your pin.
Right your voice mails are sent to your e-mail as an attachment I agree and that my friend is the internet. Your computer dosen’t have to be on for you to receive that call. You can pick up your message from another computer or your cell phone if it is set up to receive e-mails or you can call your number to receive it. When you call your number your calling into someones computer system and it’s on there harddrive and I would gather that system would be MagicJack. Because you can’t call your MJ number to receive your e-mails with your messages.
So please tell me what is wrong with my computer? The answer is nothing!
The problem as I have stated before is on there end MagicJack.
All I’m asking of you please don’t be disrespectful to people you don’t know and especialy talking about things that you have no clue!
Thank you for your time,
Thumper

I just got magicJack yesterday, and it’s GREAT!!! It works exactly as advertised.
It installed in seconds on OS X 10.5.6. It took quite awhile longer to do on Vista, but that’s expected. I’m telling everyone I know about magicJack!!!
Dear Sir or Madam:

Hi: Some times when I start my computer (the magic jack stops in the middle & freezes my window). Can I keep it from opening up when I don’t need it? Besides unplugging it. Thanks D
do you have local area codes for my location in Vancouver B.C. Canada ?
this was asked before but not answered here.
we can take our old existing numbers from our cell or land lines but can you apply those to our new MJ ?
thank you
the codes we use here are 604 or 778 by the way. if they are not available do you give me the option of choosing an area code from the list you have available ?
Use IPvaani to call for free. Why people need computer and internet to make calls.
Use skype if you use computer. Magicjack another hype product. I don’t think they survive
housnyde you said: Use IPvaani to call for free.
I see a big problem with using IPvaani you can only call or receive calls from others that have IPvaani. I don’t see much use. The MagicJack I have had problems however it is starting to work for me also. I don’t see how you can compare these two. When you can call call any home, bussiness and or cell phone in the USA or Canada for nearly free and the number your calling doesn’t have to have any type of VOIP. Just my opinion.
Well this product is just OK Program chashes, calls dropped and 800 #’s often don’t work. I will probably keep using BUT you need a land line or cell phone as back up..
i have the magic jack and my reception isn’t good at all i recieve important calls and i cant hear them at all they go in and out also i can only call out somtimes. Sometimes it wont even let me call out at all i need to no what i can do to get better reception and to be allowed to call out when i want

Ali,
Here is what you need to do to get rid of your error 9 problem: go to http://www.magicjack.com and at the bottom of the page click on FAQ’s/Knowledgebase.
In the search bar, type upgrade.
Now click on Cannot start my magicJack / I don’t see any menu.
On the next page you should be able to click on the link to download the latest upgrade.
You need to ALLOW magicJack in your personal firewall to receive this upgrade.
I hope this works for you. Let me know.
Roy
I like the idea of magicjack at first until i realize it won’t work if you have 3 family members in the Philippines that live in different places which means i have to pay $60 a month. My family only talks to me and my parents mostly.
So what did i do? My family back in the Philippines signed up skype for free. Then, I signed up a $3 monthly subscription which allows me to make unlimited calls to US/canada and forward my skype calls to my mobile and my parents’ landline and mobile (simultaneously).
Am I right saying that the computer has to be left on 24 hours a day in order for magicjack to work
You are right, Cliff. Don’ t worry about leaving your PC on for 24 hours a day, it won’t hurt it at all. I have one PC over 8 years old and it has been on about 24 hours a day since I bought it. I shut it down once a day, or every other day, for about 3 minutes then turn it back on. I have not had any problems with the PC because I leave it on and I have not noticed my electric bill go up much.
HI MAGIC JACK , JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IN T OR C NEW MEXICO.THE AREA CODE WAS CHANGED A FEW MONTHS AGO FROM 505…NOW 575 …. SO IF YOU COULD FIX MY NUMBER AND UPDATE YOUR CODES FOR NEW MEXICO. THAT WOULD BE GRATE !…..LOVE YOUR MAGIC….TAKE CARE.
From time to time I find a transmission breakdow when calling members of the organization I belong to. It breaks up so badly whether I call them or they are calling me. Does anyone else experience this from time to time.
Also, I find that one must be very patient with the tech support group. Often they don’t seem to be too swift. Anyone else experienced that?
Lastly for the amount I pay MJ per year and the money I am saving, I can be very patient although very frustrated at times.

Hi
Is there any reseller for magicjack in Karachi, Pakistan ?
A response for charles vaughn, Jr.
I’m usisng magicjack for 8 months now. At the beginning I use to encounter thsi kind of problem , but I find out later that I didn’t have enough memory on my PC to run several programs at the same time. I bought Some RAM and since I never have this problem.
One more thing, I went to a friend of mine yesterday to fax a document and I found out that He hooks up his fax machine to his magicjack device. We fax the document and confirm it later with the receiver by phone. I was a kind of supprised, when I use the service for 8 months and didn’t know I could fax doc via it.
i am considering magic jack but want to keep the phone number i’ve had for 30 years. i read here that it might be possible with grand central. i also read you need an invitation to grand central…….how does all this work? THANKS in advance for any and all help.
I just got magicjack and it works great. I did have a problem with caller id but it was fixed when I hooked up another phone to the device. I just don\’t see how the company makes money.
I just got my majic jack today, i think it is the greatest thing but the only fall back is that i live in canada and am not able to get a canadian area code.
