StumbleUpon moves one more step towards Google

Its no big secret that Google is eying perennial web 2.0 player StumbleUpon for acquisition. Now several Noheat readers have noticed that Stumble’s own advertising campaigns are starting to look very much Google like since their recent back end redesign. We would guess this is just one more move toward integration of these two players. With Google’s already successful adsense back end StumbleUpon’s guaranteed visits this will be a tremendous value for heavy brand hitters. The question still remains, will StumbleUpon’s users balk at a higher level of advertisement stumbles?

Got something to say?

I think Stumbleupon would really benifit from the acquisition, keeps them in cash and straightens out of of their UI.
Its kind of odd that all of a sudden I get over 1000 uniques to this page from StumbleUpon. Hmm
OK what do we call it, Stumoogle, Gooooumble, Stooble?
At least maybe they integrate their toolbars so I can see more of my screen.

why would Google buy a not so profitable company.

If you remember, Google started out with absolutly NO way of making money at all. Yet someone beleived in them, and look at them now.
Also, Google has the money to spare on things like this, and i think SU would greatly benefit from a Google acquisition.
Oh, and i stumbled to this article by the way…
Google will buy up all world …
I hope that even if google buys stumbleupon, there is no major change with the site. If there is then stumbleupon will not be stumbleupon.
yeah, expect some major changes in Policy if google buy SU. expect the unexpected. remember, Google rules the web.
Yeah, stumble users won’t mind more ads. G will make a mint when it buys stumble.
Isn’t SU owned by eBay?
hope when its come true, each SU member can get revenue share from each ads that appear in a profile page
good news
Oh man I hope google never buys stumbleupon or Digg. I think it will be the end of democracy on the net when Google takes control of everything.

yeah I agree the social bookmarking will be stop and google will limit are access because they want to lessen spammers
I think more people with go through google adwords rather than stumbleupon. there are to many spammers in stumbleupon.
stumbleupon is awesome. it is much better then other social bookmarking sites like reddit, digg, delicious, etc.
Stumble is getting sold.. hehehe I don’t know why.. they are one of the best social bookmarking website..
Yeah indeed, and I might say stumbleupon is really great social website for us
