There was an interesting article today on Lifehacker that addressed how best to archive and find files on DVDs and CDs you have in your collection.
Nearly every software solution that was proposed was a freeware or shareware solution that made a database of everything on the media and you had to go reference the CD or DVD after you did a search.
Nearly every software solution that was proposed was a freeware or shareware solution that made a database of everything on the media and you had to go reference the CD or DVD after you did a search.
I have found that using a CD/DVD Storage system like the one below is the easiest and less cumbersome when you deal with great amounts of data. It comes with software that catalogs your content and when you find the CD or DVD with the content in question it simply ejects the CD or DVD so you can get the content you need.
