Deeper down the rabbit hole we were hearing that a possible buyout or partnership with Meebo might be in the works as early examples looked eerily familiar to our testers. But wait there is even more, Google is working on toolbars that integrate into both Outlook and Thunderbird allowing some core Gmail functionality to complement their IMAP functionality. An extra benefit of installing the toolbar Google will see the “on behalf of Gmail” header sent along with each email disappear from outgoing mail. The other reason for adding the toolbar will be tighter Google Documents integration and a way to report back to Google email that has been marked spam to greater increase their already stellar spam protection.
