Stream Live Video from your Cell Phone

So it had to happen, now that data plans and smart phones such as the iPhone are as common as over exposed tattoos on a beach we’re seeing a whole new way of approaching the internet, through a ity bity screen and a half assed camera. If you thought video on the internet is pretty hot well wait until you get a load of this. Using your cell phone and a data plan you can stream a videocast live. Thats right, like a super duper twitter your friends can follow your travels of lameness right along with you. So imagine this, tons of people streaming live video at the same time up into the internet. Two things you are bound to see in great numbers are extremely lame video (albeit live) and someone is going to figure out some way to put some nudity up there.

However after some careful search I was able to find a few interviews from fellow bloggers that were captivating to see live. I could also see this becoming a new video journalism, featuring Joe Blow and his live broadcast from the scene of little Sara Evans missing cat.

Right now Qik’s service is in Alpha and its phone support is extremely limited (iPhone coming soon) but they do happen to support a whole slew of Nokia phones as well as a few key Windows Mobile phones.
