Remember where your pictures were taken with GPicSync

Do you remember looking at the family picture albums with Grandma, she would flip from page to page explaining when each picture was taken and where. Usually there was something on the back that would indicate where and when the picture was taken. Fast forward to today and to our digital cameras we currently have. The internal clock on the camera does a good enough job keeping track of the date but how do you know where the picture was taken? This is where GpicSync comes into handy. GpicSync can add your Geocode into the picture data. “GPicSync automatically inserts location in your photos metadata so they can also be used with any ‘geocode aware’ application like Picasa/Google Earth, Flickr, loc.alize.us, etc.” So now 50 years ago not only can you tell your grandchildren where and when but the exact coordinates of where the picture was taken. With GPS radios plummeting in price its only a matter of time before your standard digital camera is GPS enabled doing this for you, but until then theres the manual but very cool GPicSync.

Got something to say?

I don’t like the idea thaht Google takes pictures from me
This is an awesome idea - though I couldn’t care less if Google takes photos of me - or anyone else for that matter, it’s simply irrelevant - you don’t see people complaining about CCTV cameras capturing them, do you?
Nice tool!
It’s really nice to be honest…especially if you’re planning on going on holiday to that particular destination…you can see what the area is like with more variety of pictures than you would find from that destinations homepage or so.
Great feature.
This really is a great idea!
Good for capturing memorise for those of us that travel lots.

This wouldn’t mean much to me, but I can see where future generations would like to know where the pictures came from.
