Thats Hot, Paris Hilton’s assistant waiting in line for iPhone

That’s Hot, Well it seems hype needs more hype.  Paris Hilton’s assistant was seen in line today waiting in line to get her recently incarcerated and released hands on the latest greatest Apple phenomenon the iPhone.  Seems even the great Hilton Heiress’  pull is not enough to get her an early iPhone peek.  Of course Apple is probably not bending over backwards for ex-convicts.  But who else is waiting in line?

According to the LA Times others taking part in the media whore iphone frenzy are anyone from Cher to Steve Wozniak (what!).  It seems even the rich in famous are forced to wait in line for the iPhone.  An Apple spokesman says “No one is getting special treatment”.  Paris should be used to not getting special treatment by now but even Oscar winners aren’t getting cuts.  So today while you wait in line to get a iPod look around you, you may be surrounded by the rich and famous (or hyped) maybe you can sell your spot for a few hundred thousand dollars.

Build a High Power Ping Pong Ball Gun

This one has little to do with cool Tech news, however what a cool Mcguyverish way to cause Office mayhem (insert evil laugh here).

Paypal pays Google money to smack Google Checkout in the face

Google seems to be taking it on the chin today. First their iGoogle.com services went crazy killing people’s perfectly arranged main (ig) pages. Then everyone mocked them because of their add of a “i” in front of Google, (come on guys this is not the nineties). Now Paypal is taking their turn, before when doing a search for Google Checkout, they weren’t even number one. Now Paypal is the number one pay result where they claim that you can “Improve Your Customers’ Experience”. Which since you are doing a search on Google Checkout implies that Google’s customer experience sucks. It must be a bad day for Google when you take money from Paypal to smack you in the face.

Google Image search gone wrong, Krispy Kreme linked to oral action

Many people use Google Images for all sorts of reasons, and I suppose so does NBC affiliate WAGT. This is a lesson in proofing your own work. Apparently one of the graphic artists used a image on their broadcast of a Krispy Kreme donut box for a story about their new wheat donut (ick). The problem with that image is…well I will let you read the image below .

The funny this is in one version or another this goof has exposed hundreds of thousands of people to Krispy Kreme’s new donut.  Somewhere a Krispy Kreme marketing exec giggles like Dr. Evil.

Watch the broadcast on YouTube.

Now you too can create sterogram 3D pictures

Ok I’ll admit it this website has little technical value but in the course of another project it stumbled its way into my lap and is worth passing along. According to the numbers 85 - 90% of all people cannot view a sterogram which is what this website creates. I used to be in the group of people who could not seem to view it. Not wanted to be in some sort of inferior seeing group I practices using the methods below and with a little bit of coaxing from this website I can now see the 3D images created by a Sterogram. Thank you Flash-Gear lol.

Here are a couple methods

Method 1

Put your face close to the stereogram. Allow your eyes to relax, and stare right through the stereogram as if your eyes were focused at a point behind the surface of the stereogram. Slowly move away from the stereogram without changing the position of your eyes.

Method 2

Look at your own reflection (or the reflection of another light source) in the screen. Slowly shift your attention to the stereogram on screen without changing the position of your eyes.

Please note that only 85 - 90 percent of people are able to see stereographic pictures in a three-dimensional way.
